It makes you rethink the shy and retiring Water Rail! And a Bittern puts in an appearance at the end! You simply couldn’t make this up!

The urge to scratch was too great and it unwound to reveal a Blue Tit before curling up in the opposite direction [emoji4] Is there anything in your nest box @LeMarchand? Techykev Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Frogs are out early this year. Out walking the dog yesterday and almost trod on one crossing the path. Then yesterday afternoon I was in the garage cleaning my bike and turned around to find a big green frog sat in the middle of the floor watching me. Scooped it up and put it back outside where it promptly hopped off back into the undergrowth. 1

mikeprice Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Moving on (because that pond is damn cold at this time of year) over the last week or so I have seen the normal pigeon, magpies and seagulls if it is windy plus loads of small bird that the bins have identified as robins blue tits (I said it was cold - sorry!) sparrows other things that move too fast to focus on best to look now - damn thing are obscured by leaves once spring gets going bird song was wonderful this morning though

mikeprice Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Over the last few weeks I have seen Blue Tits, Sparrows, and woodpeckers - and heard woodpeckers around a lot as well as the normal pigeons, magpies and seagulls (actually gulls - only one gull lives at sea - or should they be called beachgulls???) and the squirrels are starting to hop around
Dos_Box Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Had a walk around my local park last night and heard the male and female tawney owls together for the first time since last year, which was great to see, well, hear. Also had a load of frogs calling in the gardens at the back of my house when I got back. Things are getting busy for spring!

mole Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 We discovered we had a hedgehog a week ago in the garden, so I knocked up a hog house and put out some food for them. I put out a old mobile phone with some motion video software of it and recorded them, also had one sleeping in the hog house the other day. 1
