As everyone is set to melt, I thought I would start a thread to minimise thread drift elsewhere.

I was up and out in the garden at 6am doing some necessary work before it gets too hot to bother.

An air stone has gone in the aquarium to help our fish out. The curtains are closed. Windows and doors open at the moment as it is currently cooler out than in, but they’ll be closed as the temperature rises.

Good luck to those of you braving schools on the last day of term.

we broke up on Tuesday so at least we're able to wear t-shirt/shorts now. No aircon in our office but we currently have 4 fans running.

Unfortunately for me, there's no one at home so the house is locked up with all the windows closed It's probably going to be about a million degrees in there by the time I get home.

At least it's supposed to drop back down to low/mid 20s over the weekend here.

This weather reminds me why I moved to the beach ( I will just have to remember this on rainy November commutes!) I've found a new addiction of vimto ice lollies to bring into the office over summer.

For some reason, tonight is the first night in forever that we've decided to have a game of football after work.

Current weather predictions say 32 Degrees and rolling thunderstorms!

It was nice knowing you all! :)

We have tickets for the theatre in London this evening. Fingers firmly crossed that Southeastern will get us there. Thanking$deity that we don’t have to go on the Central Line. The Jubilee Line will be unpleasant, but the Central Line will be far, far worse.

21% chance of a storm midnight-1am here [emoji22]

We missed out last time and it looks like we will miss out again.

We have a yellow weather warning for thunder today and tomorrow, but they aren't actually forecasting any storms (or any rain at all until tomorrow.

TBH, I'm glad they are to die out by midnight. I hardly slept during the last ones the other day as they were in the very early hours until dawn.

It was meltingly hot driving home yesterday.

Today the aircon is going to be working overtime.

I have a blind I put up in the windscreen of my car when it’s parked in the sun. Yesterday, I forgot to do it. When I left for a meeting at 5pm, I could hardly bare to touch the steering wheel or the gear stick. The blind is back in place today!

Not at work this week, but had an email from one of the admin staff who said they're all moving into my office! (Only rooms with air con are the ICT suite and my office/server room).

Touch rugby training tonight, that's if (a) anyone turns up and (b) we don't get washed away with a thunderstorm...preparing for my first tournament in a while on Sunday, thankfully the forecast is cooler for the weekend.

Have tickets for a show in London tomorrow, hoping it cools down a bit. Fortunately it's only a short walk from Euston so no need for the Tube, remember it well from working in London for a year - not a pleasant experience.

I've been lugging kit around all week its been torture, change of plan today at last minute so working from home in the coolness of the fan. Got a full day of it again tomorrow so going to be cooked!

36C here in West Kent, but it has started to cloud over. I don’t know if this will improve matters or whether a subsequent increase in humidity will make it worse.

Stupidly hot in central london - the warnings for people not to travel did mean that the non air conditioned train this morning wasn't as bad as it could have been though and the Northern line was reasonably cool.

There does however seem to be a lot of tourists wondering around so I fear that the journey home may not be so quiet...

Been a hectic week for us, what with departmental moves, power issues and a few switches fainling in the heat no rest for us. Went for 10k run made up of Intervals this morning and it was hard work, I was like tap even after a shower.

Just had a huge bolt of lightning come down at the end of the road (there is a radio tower there) so we all ran indoors. We are having impressive lightning and it's dropped the temp nicely :)

Just two spectacular Booms (capital B required) and bright flashes down the road in Ribchester. Wind picked up a little which is nice :)
