So the BT new chief executive, who is paid £1.1m salary as well as an annual bonus of up to 240 per cent of his wage - has signed off on this new logo?

 

"We have to pay the high salaries to get the best talent" strikes again. I swear this needs to be made into a meme.

That's because in true BT fashion, it took 6 people to do the logo:

 

 

One to write the letter "B".

One to write the letter "T".

One to draw the circle.

One to schedule the first three to arrive in the wrong order, resulting in ( ) T P being the logo prototype for three quarters of the time spent on the logo,

One to copy the results down wrongly and blame the customer.

One to find the original customer request, fix it in 5 seconds but refuse to admit any responsibility on BT's part despite all evidence to the contrary.

I could have done that with an etch-a-sketch! And failed to turn up 5 times, late 3, failed to do any work because I didn't have the right pole climbing kit twice....

The old logo, with the horrible horizontally-stretched letters and the coloured blobs, was just awful, like a bad pastiche.

 

This new one is like a 1950s back-to-basics no-nonsense clean design. It's a bit like a post-office ink stamp.

When a previous one came out - a full 'company theme' thingy - I knew a bloke who worked for BT

 

His comment - after many months of corporate discussions and meeting and consultations etc we have a new corporate colur

Nah! I reckon they all eschewed the coffee, went straight to the pub and left the work experience kid behind to do the logo.

 

He spent 5 minutes on it in Paint, and went back to Facegramchat or Instasnapbook or whatever is popular with the 'youfs' these days!
