Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but as we all know, we wear many different hats.

Anyway I have 7 photographs that I need to get mounted onto canvas, to go into one of out meeting rooms.

 

I am trying to work with a local company, that do this sort of thing, however it is proving an uphill struggle. I am speaking to a sales person, who is then speaking to the studio, who are then producing pdf's of what it will look like etc, which isn't always what I had asked for.

They are also more expensive than Photobox!!

 

So can anyone recommend a company that I can do all of this online, in a variety of different sizes (but about A1). I have never had any of my photos put onto canvas, so haven't seen anything close up and checked the quality of the canvas wrap around vs the photo to start with. So I need your help.

If I remember correctly, my local supermarket (the orange one) did canvas prints. Might be worth taking a look in yours (or even try the blue one).

What did you think of the quality?

 

Not sure why I am so worried about the quality of the canvas, what will let me down is the quality of the photographs!!

I've never actually bought from there, but the quality seemed fine for the type you see in boardrooms.

I've used snapfish to print photos onto canvas. They're very good. They don't appear to do up to A1 size though, the largest is 75x50cm and costs £64.99 but if you look around online, there's usually one or two discount codes around. There's a couple at the moment that may apply, like 40% off orders over £200 (inc VAT).

I have only ever used PhotoBox but do you have a local photography shop, I know mine does canvas. Just something to be aware of some are more paper and not as hard wearing. I got a discount with PhotoBox and more than happy with them and would use again.

Another +1 for PhotoBox.

 

I've used them in the past for a present for a friend, I had a digital piece commissioned, then uploaded it to them and they printed out and shipped it. Easy as pie.

Prices can get a bit steep for some of the bigger prints, but worth a look anyway.

They come from overseas and are very cheap indeed. They will fade in the sun after a while and they're a bit MDF, but they're generally on par with somewhere like Photobox etc.

 

If you want a higher quality (and more expensive) print doing. I can recommend either of these two (i've used them plenty in the past and both are very good).

I'd advise ticking the colour correction option as well so they give it a once over and make subtle adjustments to get it bang on as what you see on the screen isn't what will get printed unless you've calibrated your monitor to their print profiles

Thank you so much for all your replies. You have given we some really good suggestions. Think I may check out Loxley as I am not convinced the resolution on the photos is enough for photobox etc.

Another one for photo box. I would suggest the photo quality be at least 300dpi and check with the printers on image pixelation

I've never had a canvas from them, but I wouldn't hesitate to order one from them if I wanted one.

As part of a local camera club, many of our members swear by DS Colour Labs. I have used them on a couple of occasions for just ordinary prints (large ones) and they are superb, their turn-round time is superb ... last time I uploaded something to them at lunchtime and the print arrived the following morning.
