Everyone has one of these, a little nugget that you took for granted and assumed was normal, but with a little hindsight is now far from it.

I'll start you off with...

 

I jumped out of the first plane I ever flew in.

 

Yes, it was a parachute jump, but now seems more than a little unusual seeing as everyone else went to Spain on theirs and got off normally at the other end.

On a similar level, I was flying gliders and then light aircraft long before I ever learnt to drive. Always had the idea that I’d get my PPL before any driving licence, but sadly never happened.

 

Steam trains are yet to be ticked off my list though, one day.

I don't drink hot drinks at all, i can't remember my last cup of tea, only ever had 1 cup of coffee which was last summer when i want to try one, i had it at 10am... i was still up at 3am with my brain going at 100mph.

 

Also applies to watery food, can't have soup at all!

(or there is in my mind - as it was a wooden sailing boat I suspect that I may be exaggerating)

 

Anyway - I did - it was on a Royal Navy Cadet course when I was at school - the Chief Petty Office who was in charge was NOT impressed even though it was his fault for not telling us to check the gaff runner was screwed in properly

Big list of odd things about me but I guess one of my earliest differences was passing my driving test (on a tractor) when I was 16 years old.

 

Then again, being diagnosed as dyslexic when I was in primary school but not being told about it until I was 42 years old is a difference that had I known about it earlier might have made a major difference during at least my 23 years in the Royal Air Force Police!

Birthdays!

 

My older brother and I share a birthday in May two years apart. My younger brother was born on Christmas day. My youngest brother and my sister (the youngest in our family) have birthdays separated by 8 days in the year but also by three years (my sister is three years younger than my youngest brother)

 

Until fairly recently we understood that mum's birthday was 5^th November. We know now that it is actually 6^th November.

 

It's not much but it's the best I've got.

I was about to "me too" with the starting at 7... but I'm 33 next month so 20 years behind you! (Started with a 386 running Dos 5, all we had was dos games like crystal caves, dune 2 and the Direct Access menu system)

 

Weird fact relating to this - I use the mouse with my left hand, but I'm right handed. Our first computer's desk was pushed up against a radiator so if you moused right handed you got burnt when the heating was on. I'm now rubbish at aiming the mouse with my right hand and can only really do it left handed - I don't invert the mouse buttons though as you couldn't do that when I started using a mouse. Left click is my middle finger, right click is index finger.
