RLR Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Anyone have link/guide to a script that extracts the wim and removes specific built in apps? Got an old one but wondering if anyones found one for 1803. Guess it's still a bit early.
chazzy2501 Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 just done a fresh install of this and it didn't have a kms client key? I had to manually add one and activate?
MartinT Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 1803 installed on my (dual screen) Surface Pro just fine. RSAT tools for 1803 here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45520&WT.mc_id=rss_alldownloads_all
Arthur Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Is your capture card not showing after Windows 10 Spring Update (1803)? Here's the solution! We've had some reports that after updating PCs to Windows 10 Spring Update (Version 1803) your capture cards and microphones aren't working correctly. The problem stems from new privacy settings introduced in this newest update, that control what applications can access webcam (and other video devices) and microphones. These new controls are having the unintentional effect on our capture cards that they will no display a signal when camera access is disallowed in the privacy settings. Luckily, there's a simple solution. To get to the privacy controls: In Windows search, type "privacy" and hit enter. On the left sidebar, under app permissions, click on camera Find the toggle under "Allow apps to access your camera" and set it to on Now your capture card will work again in your favorite recording or streaming app. If your microphone is not working either, repeat the steps above, but this time on the left side bar click on microphone In Windows search, type "privacy" and hit enter. On the left sidebar, under app permissions, click on microphone Find the toggle under "Allow apps to access your microphone" and set it to on
LeMarchand Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Updating my personal machines, and my Acer Convertible won't update due to it's Clovertrail processor. Annoying, but fair enough - though apparently it shouldn't have updated past 1607. It's on 1709.
smithson83 Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Sorry to hijack the thread. @Arthur @mavhc @Mic_Impero I was wondering if it's worth setting up a thread for Impero Injection Exclusions.
DJ-1701 Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Regarding 1803 and VLSC. I can confirm that the ISO for English International is now available. 3
robyholmes Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Regarding 1803 and VLSC. I can confirm that the ISO for English International is now available. I've currently got issues with my Windows 10 image of it picking en-US over en-GB. MDT is set to configure en-GB but I'm wondering if the language pack isn't in the ISO. I can't see any different versions when on VLSC, does the normal ISO include en-GB or do I need to download and install the Language Pack ISO as well?

In my experience, the default ISO (English) is US, the English International one defaults to GB.

Arthur Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Can you tell me how I get the different versions? I can't see a English International version? Click the 'Language' dropdown.

Norphy Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 With Windows 8, I always found that having the international version of the OS stopped things like RSAT being installed unless you have the en-US language pack installed. Has this issue gone away now?

Has this issue gone away now? Strange... haven't had that issue myself. Seemed to work fine on 1709, and 1804 doesn't appear to be different.
Norphy Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 I've not tried it with Windows 10, I've always downloaded the "English" version because that was an issue I couldn't be bothered dealing with. If it's gone away, I'm happy
staylor1972 Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Did anyone manage to find any info or guides about extracting the built in apps in 1803?
ICT_GUY Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 (edited) I have removed impero from the network (was not the latest version). On a fresh install with no impero and the 1803 ISO downloaded today and installed via WDS I had a black screen on login with an admin account after I ran windows update and rebooted. Rebooted again and it was ok. I have an inkling the issue might be profile linked. Edited May 8, 2018 by ICT_GUY
Accura2k7 Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Happily, the on screen keyboard now shows the correct size on our PC's running the Clevertouch TV's with 1803. That'll please the staff when I eventually get round to rebuilding them!
robyholmes Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Click the 'Language' dropdown. Face meet palm is all I can say to that! I blame Microsoft, normally you need to use Powershell to extract something, then combine it with another program, then covert it with something else before crossing your fingers while it builds your image. I didn't expect them to make it as easy as a drop down to pick your language. Thank you!
sted Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 With Windows 8, I always found that having the international version of the OS stopped things like RSAT being installed unless you have the en-US language pack installed. Has this issue gone away now? you still need us language pack im 90% sure
Arthur Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 (edited) you still need us language pack im 90% sure Yeah. That hasn't changed. www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45520 (under System Requirements) Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 is available in the following languages: cs-CZ, de-DE, en-US, es-ES, fr-FR, hu-HU, it-IT, ja-JP, ko-KR, nl-NL, pl-PL, pt-BR, pt-PT, ru-RU, sv-SE, tr-TR, zh-CN, and zh-TW. If the system UI language of your Windows 10 operating system does not match any of the available RSAT languages, you must first install a Windows 10 Language Pack for a language that is supported by RSAT, and then try installing Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 again. ICTICJTilson Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Just testing 1803 but so far so good and domain logins times seem a lot faster (touch wood)
DJ-1701 Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Yeah. That hasn't changed. www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/195778-remote-server-administration-tools-rsat-windows-10-v1803.html Odd... never needed to install it for them to work though. :/ Pre-installed?
sted Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Odd... never needed to install it for them to work though. :/ Pre-installed? windows does sometimes seem to install the us language pack without being asked
Warwick_Tech Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 1803 Upgrade Issues - * Whizzy light bar around calendar breaks when changing months * My start menu icons (office especially) randomly dissapear * RSAT applocker still gives the MMC error 1803 Upgrade Successes - * Accent colour now applies correctly to all profiles (except the default blue, still can't figure out how to change that)
