Am using Johan Arwidmark's store disable script as part of MDT. UE-V doesn't include everything in AppData, or doesn't with my testing anyway.
RLR Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 (edited) The new GPO updates have been released and there is a new one: 1803 - windowsstore.admx - Disable all apps from Microsoft Store Disable turns off the launch of all apps from the Microsoft Store that came pre-installed or were downloaded. Apps will not be updated. Your Store will also be disabled. Enable turns all of it back on. This setting applies only to Enterprise and Education editions of Windows. Does this mean we don't need to uninstall provisioned apps? It sounds like they're just being disabled a la Applocker rather than removed so they will still go into the user's profile when they log on for the first time; they'll just be prevented from running them.

Patrick Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 We are not really rejecting change. We are happy to use UWP apps that are suitable in education, such as Photos and calculator, but not candy crush and Xbox. So i think stripping out the junk is the best option still. 1

Yeah I have found Photos to be a little slow on older machines, i found the classic photo viewer to be much much faster at loading, but obviously a lot more limited.

The only thing I changed was the the new People feature on the taskbar, can't see a use for that in our environment so updated my amdx files and turned that off. Original poster mentioned something about sound controls moving into the settings app, seen no evidence of that here?

Original poster mentioned something about sound controls moving into the settings app, seen no evidence of that here? the sound controls are a lot different. im running it on my home pc and every now and again (and it seems worse with 1803 to the point changing source to something directly plugged into the tv and leaving the pc on means no sound) it decides to change the output type to something the amp its plugged into dosent support so no sound until i change the settings which have moved
