  1. This is what I do when I have this problem https://blog.workinghardinit.work/2015/10/15/remove-lingering-backup-checkpoints-from-a-hyper-v-virtual-machine/

    TTS Data Logger

Sorry, apologies, I don't have access to this anymore as I have moved on from my previous employer. You could try contacting TTS directly for the software.
  3. Just an update from our experience. I used a Anker USB to Ethernet adapter on our Latitude 3190 this morning, imaging from SCCM. To enable network stack, open the BIOS -> General -> Advanced Boot Options -> Then tick 'Enable UEFI Network Stack' Hope this is helpful
  4. As techmonkey says, I would escalate. We send All Staff emails which is 80+ users and we've been okay.
  5. At these prices, it'd be cheaper for the schools to take out a year contract with some phone companies!
  6. We used Net-Ctrl recently, they were very good.
  7. Have a dedicated supply account, regularly changing the password.
  8. Have you tried removing the power and battery, holding the power button down for 10 seconds then trying again? Has worked for me many times over the years.
  9. I've had a very good quote from Securly for cloud filtering.
  10. It will be interesting to see if Microsoft modify the requirements. We all saw what happened with Vista. Time will tell. I do think it's totally unreasonable to have a HD webcam though. I bought a brand new laptop for home use last year and this doesn't have a HD webcam, 1 year old device!

    Will PM you.
  12. I was of the understanding that if it is a school owned device (which these DfE ones now are) then we had to provide filtering whether that device is on site or off site and it is a legal obligation to do so.
  13. We had the email from the DfE too. Like others, I'm going to wait until September before I reimage them.
  14. I know of a school that recently were looking at Phoenix and they too were told they'd need global admin rights.
  15. As others have said, backups. I would try to do a restore from scratch using your backups and make sure they truly work. Ensure MFA is enabled for all staff.
  16. I echo Steve, don't do it! We were automatically moved to the hosted one a few years ago and it was awful. 2 years ago we moved to Libresoft and as Steve said they are brilliant. As well as being cheaper, it's much easier to use. Support is great. Would definitely recommend you taking a look. They were able to migrate our database as part of the installation.

    TTS Data Logger

I have a copy of this software which seems to work with Windows 10. Please reply when you have downloaded it so I can remove it from my OneDrive. Datalogger Software
  18. We do 2 Parents Evenings here. From 4pm - 7pm. Appointments are about 10 minutes each. First come, first served.
  19. We have some HP 14 laptops, not Chromebook but this may help. Turn off the Bluetooth. I set up some HP 14 laptops this week, handed one out and had complaints of a patchy connection with Wi-Fi dropping out every few minutes. Tried updating drivers etc, but since turning off the Bluetooth we've had no problems. (So far, touch wood!) May be worth a shot...
  20. We use Parents-Booking by NetMedia. We ran 2 Parents Evenings via Videocall using their service last Autumn, and will use it again after Easter. We used to use them as a way of signing Parents up to Parents Evenings but now they have the video function too, it's great. As others have said with SchoolCloud, a major benefit is the automatic end of the session after the allotted time. Really keeps both the Parents and Staff focused. The only problems we ran into was the occasional Parents struggling to access it, but you'll get this with any system I guess. We never experienced any downtime with the software.
  21. Got several brand new HP Laptops with these Wi-Fi adapters and the Wi-Fi keeps dropping out. Has anybody found a stable driver / advanced settings that worked?
  22. We had a lot of Geobooks but were sent 8 HP 255 G7s last week. G7s are a lot better than the Geobooks, although still lower spec than what we would buy.
  23. Still need it for Barclays Online and CCTV viewing. That's its only use here though.
  24. Apple Configurator runs on a Mac, yes.

    Server room air con

That sounds quite a lot for 2 units. We didn't pay over £2k for ours a few years ago. You can also get air con now where if its colder outside it will pull the cool air from outside in to the room and only switch the air con on if its hotter outside than it is inside. Some councils are now using this method and saving quite a lot of money in the process. Something to consider perhaps?
