  1. Yes, I too would find it useful if it could be recorded please?
  2. I have used this guide when creating my Start Menu's in W10. There is a bit about partial lock down, it allows users to add other applications to the SM.
  3. Same as above, our lock screen image is saved in Netlogon.
  4. All the various anti-virus software I've used over the years has and did update daily.
  5. Not the only thing I use Impero for, just a feature I make use of!
  6. I control our classroom PCs shutdown time with Impero
  7. Latest Wi-Fi drivers installed I take it?

    amazon fire 7

We have some and they're OK. Yes you can import an SSL certificate. Yes you can set a proxy. The MDM Amazon have for the Fire's doesn't work in the UK, so you can have to set each one up individually and there isn't a way of managing them. Whilst they're based on Android, not every App works with the Fire's, so its worth checking the Amazon App store first to ensure the app (s) you'd like to download are available. https://www.amazon.co.uk/mobile-apps/b/?ie=UTF8&node=1661657031&ref_=topnav_storetab_mas
  10. Could they not add a calendar event and set that to recur?

    Tablets

Hi, I've been tasked with buying 200+ tablets They need to capable of running the Smart Learning Suite app but I also want to be able to manage via them an MDM solution. Has anybody got any ideas? It's quite a big task. Thanks in advance.
  12. How long before MS release one update a year that receives 30 months of support?
  13. I have this deployed and working on our network. We're running 1903.
  14. I cannot recommend who to do it with online, but I can recommend watching Professor Messer on Youtube. He uploads really informative videos which helped me when I undertook my A+ course.
  15. My advice would be to split the broadband from the VoIP. You don't want the quality of the phones to be affected if your broadband is being hammered and you also don't want to have both the phones and school broadband to go down at once if there was to be a problem. We've split ours and have 2 different providers to avoid the above.
  16. We're supplied by Exa too and have been affected by this and its pretty frustrating. I did email yesterday asking if they were doing anything to prevent the attack and received bit of a non-answer.
  17. 1) We're using this Pupil Asset ---> https://www.pupilasset.com/ 2) I'm not sure 3) We use SchoolMoney when dealing with parents paying for school dinners. CPOMS is linked to our Pupil Asset as a way of keeping pupils data secure and up to date on CPOMS.
  18. Yes, we use Pupil Asset here and we quite like it. Not perfect, but not sure any MIS is 100%
  19. This worked for me, thank you, I had previously used the same script but without -UseDesktopApplicationID as I hadn't needed that in 1803.
  20. You can in 1903 Education, yes. You cant download them anymore though. So Settings - Apps - Optional Features - Add Feature RSAT Tools are in here to be added.
  21. Really simple, quick guide on how to do this. https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/deploymentguys/2016/03/07/windows-10-start-layout-customization/ I've used this guide every time and it's worked on every image I've made. Basically: 1. Create a start menu so pinned apps etc 2. Run this script in powershell Export-StartLayout –path .xml 3. Deploy via GPO
  22. I've put Kingston A400 120GB SSDs in here and have found them reliable. Managed to get them at £14.70 ex-VAT when I bought in bulk 50+
  23. You can also have the recovery keys stored in AD. I do here, I've found it really useful on more than one occasion. Store Bitlocker Recovery Keys in AD.
  24. SSDs here. We bought a brand new Dell Laptop for a member of staff last year with a spinning HDD and it was slower than a 3 year old laptop with an SSD in. We've found 128GB to be more than sufficient in our school with redirected desktop / documents etc. All remaining HDDs are being replaced with SSDs next month.
  25. I'm trying to find a policy / registry fix to disable / hide the 'Connect Automatically' box that appears when connecting to a Wireless Network. This box is usually ticked, but the students keep unticking the box and then somebody else comes along and cant login... I have tried looking for such a policy / reg fix but am yet to come across one. Can anybody help?
