I was only getting some mapped drives and this solved the problem for me: · Open Regedit · HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Policies -> System · You will see ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin, ConsentPromptBehaviorUser Add the following key - ADD DWORD (32bit), name it "EnableLinkedConnections". · Double click it and set the data to 1 · Reboot

Hi, Have a Server 2016 VM that I can't get to update. It downloads ok but then sits at install for ages before giving me an error. Upon Googling this error it appears there may be an issue with a Windows Defender update. I've downloaded the Windows Defender update manually and that doesn't install. Any ideas?

You have to make sure you have the correct .ADMX files for the version of Windows 10 you're using. The .admx files for version 1803 can be found here. I have the lock screen working in 1803 with the following settings: Group Policy – Computer Configuration –Policies – Administrative Templates – Control Panel – Personalization – Force a specific lock screen and logon image, prevent enabling lock screen camera, prevent changing lock screen and logon image You also need to ensure permissions are in place so the image can be viewed. My lock screen photo is in the NETLOGON folder on the DC.

Hi all, Had a quote from a company called HSO https://www.hso.co.uk/ who are a CCS Supplier for Fibre broadband. They're quoting £3600 a year with £0 install cost for a 50MB connection. Hello, We have a terminal server setup (VM) and internally its fine, but when we have several uses connected it to it externally it can be extremely slow and this is obviously causing complaints. Our ISP is adamant there is no limit on bandwidth etc but the terminal server isn't slow when I use it internally. The terminal server has 8 cores and 24GB of RAM and I don't think adding more would make much of a difference. Has anybody experienced this issue? Cheers

Hi all, I've got one PC that has issues with printing in Google Chrome. When it prints, it only prints part of the page. After spending a couple of hours looking into the issue, it appears that I may need to turn on 'bidirectional support'. However, this option is grayed out even when I run Print Management as an administrator. Anybody have any ideas? It's an HP Officejet Pro 8100. Many thanks, George

We have the same issue here. Some staff still use Cleverlynx, but find the text boxes particularly aren't very easy to use.

Hi, We have a redirected downloads folder so when staff download documents etc from the Internet, they're actually stored on one of our 2012 R2 file servers. If we try and open office files downloaded it can take up to five minutes to open. If we move that file from the downloads folder to another folder or have it download directly onto a 2008 file server it opens straight away. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem as you and found it was a bug. Couldn't fathom it because I've had it working on other 2012 servers. I needed WDS working urgently at the time so setup a 2008 R2 sever. I'm hoping to re-visit the issue later this year.

Agree with most of what you said! Mostly reinventing the wheel. Nothing to write home about. Same old Apple, technology is already here, but each year they make devices just a little bit better so people go out and buy. For example 12MP camera, nothing special.

Hi, So we bought a HP M220 WAP. Plugged it in, set it up and we have a problem that is driving me insane. Windows devices can connect to it and browse the Internet but Android devices cant. They can connect to it no problem, but then I open up Chrome and try and browse and it doesn't work just get err_address_unreachable I read about changing channels and I literally tried every channel and its made no difference. Any ideas? Quite desperate on this one! Thanks in advance
