Professor Messer is quite good. I think he covers stuff on Server 2008.

Inserted the quote text and then copied and pasted it. I got the message 'reply needs to be at least 6 characters long'. So I added my 'There you go'!

There you go...

Hi, We have 3 netbooks that have been sitting in the box since we got them from Tesco vouchers three or four years ago. They have 512MB of RAM, 8GB SD card as the HDD. But we have no use for them. What do you use netbooks for in your school? They would be good in the classroom, but because they run off a SD card they're a bit slow. George.

Got 2 standalone Windows XP machines, one for a astronomy program in the Science lab, the other for a program in the DT room. We also have some laptops with XP, but they're being replaced after Christmas.

Some of the kids here have pressed the monitors before, thinking they were touch screen, they didn't notice the keyboard in front of them!

Okay thanks, that's the batch file I always used to use when I couldn't get a machine to connect. The WSUS GPO doesn't show in RSOP. I have taken a screenshot and will post it below. The GPO is exactly the same as the one I used on the old server, only changed the server name. 95% Windows 7. 5% Windows XP.

Hi, Got a problem here with WSUS. I have WSUS set up on a Server 2012 R2 Virtual Machine. I've downloaded all the updates and approved and disapproved the certain updates I want. However, I cannot get any machines to show in WSUS for me to approve them. I have a GPO that doesn't seem to be working but I also have the following batch file that doesn't seem to work either. This batch file also used to work for the old WSUS server. Batch file is written like this: Any ideas would be much appreciated. Cheers George.

Do you stop students from saving *.JS files in their H:\ drives ?
gmonks replied to kennysarmy's topic in Windows
We've never had any problems with .js files, neither did we in the previous school I worked in. -
Disabled domain wide.

We do it here. Haven't seen teachers do it.

Problems running JAVA with out of date or expired version of JAVA
gmonks replied to kennysarmy's topic in Windows
No, just the free version. Just go to each machine manually and set it off. We use it to update 80% of our apps. Once you have set off the last machine, the first one is usually finished. -

This is a new thing. We have had it here on IE9 too. Wise to update Java, and Java releases a new update every few months. I use Ninite to keep on top of everything.
