  1. That hasn't solved it. This is the error I get.
  2. Hi, Installed WSUS on Server 2012 R2 RTM today and get the following error when trying to load the post installation tasks: Seems to be an SQL problem. Backup Exec uses a database but it did on the old server I'm moving it from... Cannot seem to find a solution on the net. Anybody come across this? Thanks George.
  3. Thanks!
  4. FINALLY - Encrypt Data was ticked that was problem!!!
  5. When imaging our new laptops using WDS, I had to change to legacy in the BIOS for it to image correctly.
  6. Hi, Got a Server 2012 R2 Server. Got some shares across different HDDs. Any shares on the same drive as the OS I can map to without any problem. However, I have created a share on another HDD with these permissions: Everybody Read Domain Users Read Domains Admins Full Control But when I try to map to the share with the above permissions I get acess is denied. I have also set the permissions like this: Everybody Full Control Domain Admins Full Control Me Full Control Again I still couldn't map. Any ideas why? It's probably something incredibly stupid but it's driving me crazy! I should point out the drive I can map to without any problem is NTFS the others I cannot map to are ReFS. Thanks

  8. I've had very similar problems here. I had to remove the smart software and install it again, also installed the latest updates after reinstalling the software. Have had to do it to a couple of boards.
  9. 1 Nm and me. 6 servers 300 pcs
  10. But is there a memory stick plugged in?
  11. That's didn't solve it. I asked him to restore it back to the factory settings using the recovery partition and he did that and said it was still slow. He's going to ring HP. I think it could be a hard drive problem because the restore took a couple of hours.
  12. Thanks Rob. Will let you know the result.
  13. He's quite clued up with PCs, so I thought he would of removed it. However, it turns out he hadn't. Anyway, when he gets home tonight he's going to remove it and let me know. Many thanks!
  14. We have WSUS in place and have a GPO so that while the PCs are logged on, no automatic restart will take place. You can schedule it so that while the PCs are idle and not logged on updates can be installed and a restart can be performed if necessary.
  15. He brought the laptop two weeks ago. He has got anti virus software and ran a scan and it was fine. Not sure what you mean by AS / AM.
  16. I didn't think we had a technet subscription but after digging around in the Subscriptions section of the VLSC site I found out we did have a Technet direct plus now (I think is the name) subscription. Activated it and download the 2012 R2 RTM. So worth having a look. Edit: Need to be using IE to get to the activate subscription part of technet.
  17. Hi all, Got a friend with a brand new Windows 8 laptop. Got all the latest drivers installed and the BIOS is up to date. The browsing history and is also clear. He is at uni with several other people, all the other laptops in the same area with him are all fine over Wireless browsing the Internet with no problem. However, on his laptop he says the Internet is really slow. I cannot think why it is slow after trying all the above. He's using Google Chrome. Also tried flush dns and Anybody know what the problem could be? Maybe a reload would sort the problem? Cheers. George.
  18. That didn't seem to make a difference. It looks like our support company may have changed something. We have passed the issue onto them. Thanks for the help and will let you know what the problem is/was. George.
  19. I moved a PC into a test OU with the default domain GPO's and it still crashes. So it must be one of those three policies? EDIT: If I run gpresult /r it says "The following GPOs were not applied because they were filtered out" it then goes on to list the three default domain policies.
  20. Yes, opening attachments work fine externally at home. I think it's something to do with the group policies?
  21. Yes. Any user on any Windows 7 machine using IE.
  22. It's not the same message, or size of the attachment. I'll attach a screenshot. So you open the attachment and IE just freezes up.
  23. Hi, Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section. We have a very odd problem on our machines. When opening attachments of any size in web mail IE crashes and throws the error "the action you requested could not be completed please refresh your web browser and try again" I started trying to resolve this problem yesterday and it seemed to be okay in Chrome and in IE with no addons. However, today when I open an attachment in IE with no addons it crashes. I started looking through our group policies yesterday and I managed to nail it down to one policy that was making it crash. However, today when I disable that same policy it still crashes. I'm at a loss as to what the problem could be, it doesn't make any sense! Exchange is also up to date with SP3. Any ideas would be welcomed. Cheers. George.
  24. Well that's misleading. Sorry I can't be of any more help, thought we had a copy of it here but turns out we don't.
