  1. I visited Currys two weeks ago and they told me they had seen a rise of Windows 7 upgrades from XP since Windows 8 has been released. They also told me that they found some tasks such as burning recovery media twice as long and complicated to do than in Windows 7.
  2. I wanted to try another PSU but the current one it has is low wattage and I didn't want to try another. In case it was too much power. The Power switch works because I tried turning it on by using the screw driver over the pins on the mobo and that didn't work. So it could be death mobo.
  3. Nope. I gave up and put it in the stock room ready to be scrapped. Unless, anybody else has suggestions.
  4. Sorted, had to re-install the universal driver.
  5. Hi everyone, At the school I work with we have a printing issue and it happens every time we reboot the print server. We have equitrac running on our photocopiers. For those who don't know how this works you send a document to the printer and when you get to one of the three photocopiers in the school you have code you put the code in and it then shows the up documents you have sent to the printer. Each user has a different code. However, every time we restart the server and anybody sends landscape documents to print the documents come out portrait, thus losing half of the document! Last time this happened we solved it by restarting the print spooler, however this time that hasn't solved the problem. Does anybody have any idea why this may be happening? We have latest driver installed from Richo's website. Thanks George.
  6. Yes. That didn't work either. But thank you both for the suggestions, if any of you have any more they would be gratefully received.
  7. It was the green one - if that helps. - http://www.equiinet.com/images/prodshots/cachepilot/CachePilot%20(very%20small%20nobackground).jpg But it would be good if anybody knows if I'm doing something silly because at my old school we reloaded it and used it as a file server.
  8. Hi all, We have an Equiinet Cachepilot box and we turned off a while ago because the power was going out, but now it won't switch back on. I'm new working with these so I don't know if I'm turning it on wrong. At the back has a switch and I flick it to on but it doesn't come on... Any idea's would be gratefully received. George.
  9. I agree with Michael it may be quicker to just do a quick re - image.

  13. I had a problem like this. Took the battery and power lead out. Left it an hour or two. Plugged it back in, let the battery charge and it worked again.

    Shutdown Problem

Still won't work. Run it from cmd and it says 'Required privileged isn't held by user' but like I said other staff with same levels of access can run it fine?

    Shutdown Problem

It is sorted now thank you.
  19. We have a problem where some machines stick on shutdown so to get around this I made a simple batch file on the affected machines. It has worked on every machine except one where it just opens command prompt and then quickly closes. Does anybody know why this might happen? Same permissions as the staff on the other affected computers. Thanks George.
  20. Maybe they are starting to take it off. This is what I see.

  22. Mums know all!!! A young man called Peter invited his mother for dinner, during the course of the meal, his mother couldn't help but notice how handsome Peter's flatmate, Simon, was. She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two, and this only made her more curious. Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Peter and his flatmate than met the eye. Reading his mum's thoughts, Peter volunteered, 'I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, Simon & I are just flatmates'. About a week later, Simon came to Peter saying, 'Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the frying pan, you don't suppose she took it do you?' 'Well I doubt it, but I'll e-mail her just to be sure' said Peter. So he sat down and wrote: DEAR MOTHER, I'M NOT SAYING THAT YOU 'DID' TAKE THE FRYING PAN FROM MY HOUSE, I'M NOT SAYING THAT YOU 'DID NOT' TAKE THE Frying Pan BUT THE FACT REMAINS THAT IT HAS BEEN MISSING EVER SINCE YOU WERE HERE FOR DINNER. LOVE PETER Several days later, Peter received an email from his mother which read: DEAR SON, I'M NOT SAYING THAT YOU 'DO' SLEEP WITH SIMON, AND I'M NOT SAYING THAT YOU 'DO NOT' SLEEP WITH SIMON, BUT THE FACT REMAINS THAT IF HE WAS SLEEPING IN HIS OWN BED, HE WOULD HAVE FOUND THE F**KING FRYING PAN BY NOW. LOVE MUM Lesson of the day, NEVER LIE TO YOUR MOTHER
