It's the latest version - 2.0.4.0.

The student was typing half way through the document (to make changes to an earlier question). I witnessed the software kind of flicker/flash and the Cursor/Insertion Point moved to the bottom/end of the document last word. He was not saving the document at the time (was typing normally).

On some computers (W10 mostly), I also noticed the print message appear behind the candidate information screen.

It's the Printing message (Your document has been successfully sent to the printer) and you have to press OK.

I have to click on a slight edge of the box and press return on the keyboard because the box/OK button is physically hidden behind the candidate information screen.

Can you force the Printing message to front?

Working fine otherwise. :)

Invigilators like students to sign the last page only, just underneath the students last part of printed text/paragraph etc.

Could you add an option here in the config (different to it being at the bottom/middle header on every page)?

The word "Signature" and a line is fine like before.

Thanks.

The cursor position on auto-save I will fix either by taking out the function or capturing current position and restoring it. One way or the other I will fix.

With regards the printing message window, i think I will remove it completely as it is not necessary. The message window does appear top most for me but any deviation away from it will drop it back, so I will sort it out ASAP.

Ok, just to be clear, the current position and layout is ok, but you would like an option for it to appear on the last page only, am I correct?

Last page only, but underneath the last piece of student text (maybe allow a line for their handwritten signature space).

For example:-

Question 1

My answer.

.......

Question 20 (last answer).

Here is my final answer.

Signature: ____________

20/06/16 Page 2/2

So it appears at the end of the text/document (but not at the bottom/middle footer).

I like your other option as well though, so please have the ability for that as well (or at least as an alternative to turn off/on).

This would need to be an extra setting.

Thanks. :-)

If I CTRL C and CTRL V any text, the line spacing disappears on the screen.

Doesn't do it for me on version 2.0.4.0

If I write some text, then change line spacing to double, then select some or all text, then CTRL C then CTRL V, it retains line spacing ok.

I'll leave it in the footer on the last page because that way it is consistent and won't cause any complications. Will be released in 2.0.4.1 soon [emoji1]

Double line spacing is enabled in the settings beforehand if that helps?

It corrects itself when you go to print.

It's when I open up an existing document and try out CTRL C and V straight away on some random text.

In the config file you can only set double line on print. You have to set it manually in the software at run time.

So if I create a saved file that had been double line spaced, then open it back up, and copy paste it still retains the double lines for me.

New version released:

Changes/Fixes:

"DisableSignatureOnPrint" has now been replaced with "Signature Appearance" which now allow for the following in the config file:

0 = Disable Signature, 1 = Signature on First Page Only, 2 = Signature on Last Page Only, 3 = Signature on Every Page

Auto save causing cursor to move to end of text, now stays where its last position is.

Small Toolbar font and colour buttons now save their selections so that they appear correct if you go into the screen options page.

Printing complete message dialog window now removed as it doesnt really serve a purpose and also sometime goes behind other windows making it difficult to action.

Documentation also updated...

Just thought I'd say I haven't had any issues with our exam laptops using ExamWritePad.

I used 1.9 something, sent the laptops up to our exam officer and haven't heard a thing out of them until yesterday when they brought the laptops back as the exams are now over.

I was dreading having to sort out messed up work or lost work but alas there was nothing!

Many thanks for the awesome app!

Thanks for your kind words. Glad to hear everything went ok.

For those that have a personal preference I will try to keep an archive on the new website just in case they want to refer back to a previous version.

Roll on mock exams in January!! [emoji1]

I was just browsing edugeek as I'm sat at school waiting for a contractor to finish up. Haven't really had a play around yet. But this looks fantastic!

I will have a bit more of a look and see what our Exams Officer thinks!

Thanks!

@ass17 - quick question for you. In our environment, we have 20 or so accounts in AD for public exams. They are only enabled when required and passwords kept with the exams staff. We do it this way so that during exams season, students can use any laptop or desktop in school for their exam, depending on where the exam is located etc.

So my question is what is your recommendation in terms of running this over a network. Is it OK to have this stored in a share on the server, that up to 20 or so students may access at the same time? The config file I will set to save and autosave in their exam account user drive. Or would you recommend having 20 separate copies of it in each of the exams user areas?

Thanks :-)

You beat me to it [emoji1]

Thanks for getting back to me anyway. I've set it up on a network share now, with all the settings as per our requirements. Works fine on the test user I tried - hopefully it will work well for us in November, when our mocks start!

Thanks for all the work you have put into this for people like us - it's most appreciated!

Hello,

Have been meaning to check this out for ages! Finally got round to it. Will use this on the exam accounts when I'm refreshing them. Just need to teach the anti-virus it's not a threat.

:-)

Out on interest does your AV software flag it up or are you just being cautious? Would be interested to know what threat if any it pops up with.

Hopefully the software will be the answer to all you exam needs :-)
