Once again it's looking great!

 

I have noticed a bug, you cannot use the right-click in the text area and there are a couple of things that nag my inner OCD.

 

There is an apostrophe missing in the AutoSave alert for the word haven't.

When clicking X on the autosave popup it still opens the save option rather than cancelling straight away.

There is a double separator line in the edit menu under Redo - I think this should be a single one, and i don't think there is a need for the one at the end after Paste.

 

I also preferred the previous screen options settings screen. Especially the option for a softer pastel colours and the information that "This colour change does not apply to printed pages."

Added new formatting option "Strikeout/Strike-through". Will be available in v 2.0.0.1 with bug fixes from previous post.

Option added in Config also to hide strikeout option along with other options to hide.

Fixed a few issues in previous posts and also re-introduced the Screen Options window, with the added extras of allowing font name selection and a reset all button back to default settings.

Is it possible to be able to minimise the screen, our exam laptops are used as both computer readers and writers for some students. Currently there is no way for them to go back to the exam paper that is being read.

When using previous version, it seems to grey out the toolbar.

Hi,

 

The toolbar & menu bar both are disabled while in any window like screen options or previous versions, this is done on purpose you do not deviate from the window you are supposed to be using.

 

In the config where there are tags, it means basically empty or blank. To make it useable with a value change it to and enter in your value in between.

Thanks, what I meant was is that the toolbar remains greyed out after restoring a previous file.

The line spacing for restored text on screen also disappears, but it is fine when printing off.

I see what you mean, should be easy to fix both issues and as soon as I'm back from very [emoji295]️[emoji295]️ Spain tomorrow, I'll look to sort these out over the weekend.

Fixed in this build:

 

1) Previous versions with double line spacing are now restored correctly.

 

2) toolbar is now re-enabled when restoring a previous version.

 

3) Double line spacing, if selected via the menubar, is now saved with all saved files in the form of a new XML element 2 inside the ExamText file format.

 

PLEASE NOTE: for fix #1 and fix #3 to work successfully all older saved files or previous version files will not have this tag, so therefore may throw an exception when loading. Please manually add the element into each older saved file (as shown below). New files created with v2.0.3.0 are not affected.

Here you go folks!

 

1) Toolbar menu enabled after restoring previous version now fixed again! :-)

 

2) Date has been moved to footer (left hand side) to give more space on the header for Exam Board Subject and Unit Code to be written in full along with Name, Candidate Number, Centre Number.

 

 

3) Candidate Information Screen has been tweaked in terms of error checking.

Exam Paper Title/Details has now been reworded to "Exam Board/Subject/Unit Code".

 

 

4) *NEW* Signature panel now appears in the footer of each printed page to allow the students to sign each page as proof that they have written what is on the paper.

 

 

This is done so that if an exam board does not receive a students exam paper and the school is requested to send another copy, because the student has signed it, they are more likely to accept it as proof it was done on the date in question by the student. But for this to work you would need to print at the end of the exam, two copies, one to send to the board and the other for you to save (Exam Officer) and get the student to sign both copies.

 

 

With this new feature, you can turn off the signature panel from being printed "DisableSignatureOnPrint" needs to be set to 1.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your work on this. I stumbled across it yesterday whilst browsing Edugeek and have downloaded this morning and it looks great! We currently use Word (heavily crippled to disable proofing etc) however occasionally have issues where Word crashes on save and then the candidate loses 5 mins of work since the last AutoRecover. Going to suggest to our exams department that we trial this during our mocks later this year, with a view to implementing for future public exams. Thanks!

Your welcome, our Exam Officer loves it too! I wrote it purely out of frustration that people where using different ways but didn't quite fit the bill. So I wrote it in my spare time to bring all those elements together and create what you see today.

 

It's a specialist product and I could have charged for it but I love programming and I'm sure if I didn't do it someone else would have (eventually) [emoji1]

I think this was a bug in an earlier version. There was a number of paragraphs throughout the document.

If you can let me know which version you were using at that time.

 

It currently sets the cursor to the end of the file on these events:

1. Saving File (including autosave)

2. Open File

3. Selecting Single Line or Double Line Spacing

 

I suspect that you are referring to the cursor position while saving.
