I do have SIMS and a whole host of other apps published in an RDS session collection so you may need to but it is my understanding that you can do this through a 3rd party tool called RemoteAppTool from kimknight( RemoteApp Tool - Kim Knight). It's possible to pass through the authentication details from guacamole using the guacamole variables in the username and password fields. For username it's ${GUAC_USERNAME} and for password it's ${GUAC_PASSWORD} . Of course this assumes that you have the LDAP extension etc setup correctly with ldap-username-attribute: sAMAccountName​ in your guacamole.properties file etc. To be able to use SIMS, under the RemoteApp section in the connection settings, you'll want to put ||pulsar in the Program field (you may need to put C:\Program Files (x86)\SIMS\SIMS .net in the Working directory field but I didn't do this and it works - possibly because I have the app published via RDWeb also). I have trialed generating reports which opens excel/word fine but of course it is in the instance running in the remote session. The only problem I've had so far is printing as the guacamole redirected printing is not working for me BUT printing to the remote printer (as pushed via group policy etc) is fine - even with the PaperCut client (this just means people can't print things out at home which is a good thing!). The only problem I seem to have is that the remote app won't fill the browser window unlike the full desktop session which does (not smart enough to figure this one out yet!). Just thought I'd say I haven't had any issues with our exam laptops using ExamWritePad. I used 1.9 something, sent the laptops up to our exam officer and haven't heard a thing out of them until yesterday when they brought the laptops back as the exams are now over. I was dreading having to sort out messed up work or lost work but alas there was nothing! Many thanks for the awesome app!

I have found what is causing the print dialog to be pushed behind - it is by setting the double line spacing value to 1 in the config. With 0 it is fine. This happens on Windows 10 and 8.1

Sorry, I should've been clearer. When clicking print from the main window, the candidate info window appears and details can be entered but when clicking print from there, the standard print dialog then appears behind the main window. I can move it out by alt+tabbing to it and alt+space to move it with the keys on a multi-monitor setup but if I have no other monitor... no dice! I am using Win 8.1 x64 if that makes any difference. Cheers for the quick work btw. I shall certainly push ExamWritePad to my various associates in other schools. [EDIT] Print dialog seems to appear fine on top in Windows 10, just my Windows 8.1. Have tried on multiple comps.

I used 0,0,0 for the background and 255,255,255 for the font (invert the b&w essentially). I also tried a bunch of other random values between 0 and 255 for each but still the font stayed black.

My friend, you are a legend. I never post on forums and things (as you will most likely tell from my info) but you sir deserve my gratitude. This is the first year we're doing exams at my place and picking apart Office is more trouble than it's worth so you've saved me a lot of messing about. FYI: If I change the font colour value in the config file it doesn't appear to apply. I don't need to do it but I just like poking around with the values in configs and things! The character map also appears behind the app now it is forced above all other windows and the print dialog is stuck behind too.
