Quatermass Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 We've now narrowed down our search for a safeguarding reporting system to CPOMS and My Concern. I know each have their users here - did anyone compare the two before choosing either? Reasons?
ITGURU Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 We have MyConcern - seems to work ok but I had no input on what the school went for. 2
eyetea Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 We have MyConcern here too - happy to answer any questions you have on it (I'm part of the safeguarding team too so have used it from that side of things as well!) 1
steveg Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 We looked at both, and went with CPOMS. Also know a lot of other local schools that went with CPOMS too. So far, staff have been very happy with it. Steve 1
howartp Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 I know nothing other than we use CPOMS and it landed on my desk at 1pm on the last day of summer term - we broke up at 12pm... 1
Sylv3r Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 All of our primaries use CPOMS. I've had very little to do with it so it must be relatively simple to use and manage - they are all happy with it.
JATSO Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 CPOMS here as well, no input but to install and configure.
jamiehill1231 Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 We use Safeguard Software https://safeguard.software
Mistert89 Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 We’ve had CPOMS for a few years now. The staff find it easy to use, and it does what they need. Easy to set up on Sims server, and ive really not looked at it since. It just works.
synaesthesia Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 I think both are much of a muchness, our secondary uses My Concern and it jus works, and one of my primaries uses Cpoms, also very happy with it. 1
ssdurn Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Has anyone here undertaken any IT due diligence on these solutions? Data residency, encryption at rest, pen tests etc?
forkies Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Has anyone here undertaken any IT due diligence on these solutions? Data residency, encryption at rest, pen tests etc? We use CPOMS and they are on the DfE website for completing the supplier checklist (I think so is MyConcern) relating to cloud suppliers and DPA when we looked into them. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/cloud-software-services-and-the-data-protection-act
Julian1 Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Sorry to resurrect this thread. Is there any great advantage in MyConcern integrating with SIMS? I haven't seen any mention of CPOMS integrating with SIMS and wondered whether this ought to be a factor in selecting one or the other system.
PotNoodleTech Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 School just bought myconcern here. No idea if it is any good it was sold to SLT from another school. Have set up the SIMS link using the WONDE SIMS link software. Staff are having training on it this afternoon. One thing is for sure with all these types of software, you are letting a heck of a lot of very personal data out of sims.
Diello Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 So many will ask for all the SIMS permissions going for their sync tools. We have put our foot down and said they need to detail exactly what data they need to export, we'd check it was appropriate, and would tailor their permissions accordingly. We initially had push-back, but all worked with us in the end to create a custom list once they realised we weren't going to budge, and they wanted our business! Who do CPOMS use for their data link? We're considering it across the Trust at the moment.
