howartp Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Hi. We're due to tender for some iPads next week but two of our three current DEP resellers are out of favour at the moment and won't be getting further business. Could you tell me who you use, assuming you recommend them? Many thanks. Peter
Andycat Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 We've used JTRS and Western Computer in the last 5 years. Would love a pm to name and shame though, as we're just about to tender too......
JordanT91 Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 I used Jigsaw24 the last time I bought some. No issues.
Katy Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 We use Albion, only had 29 ipads from them (although another 21 soon to go on order) but the pricing and service was good.
Blue_Cookeh Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 You don't need to use an authorised reseller to add them to DEP anymore. With iOS11 you can add them into DEP using Apple Configurator 2. Food for thought. 1
howartp Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 Misco. Misco are on “Credit Hold” with a lot of their distributors and selling off their UK warehouse(s) to try and get their accounts into black, as of 1st August 2017. They’re one of my current suppliers - but they haven’t processed an order or invoice in 2 months despite several calls, emails and chasers including £9.5k contract renewal that’s now expired past it’s renewal date.

Brimstone Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 KRCS or Albion are both good as they provide pre sales planning advice for deployment and help with a vision for learning using iPads
Brimstone Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 Misco. Misco are no longer an Apple Solutions Expert and have no access to education pricing...
DGardiner Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 i usually get all of mine from IDNS or Jigsaw24 never had any issues with either
Zoom7000 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 (edited) Misco are no longer an Apple Solutions Expert and have no access to education pricing... Jamman960 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 We usually use Solutions Inc, good on price and offer a good amount of support and training etc

CRN understands that the vendor giant between 24 and 26 Apple Solution Experts - Education (ASE) previously, with Softcat, Insight and Misco all apparently missing out. The 14 remaining ASEs in education are: Academia, MCC, GBM, Trams, Albion, KRCS, Western Computer, Toucan, Jigsaw24, XMA, BT Direct Business, JTRS and for Ireland Wriggle and Compu b. Misco will.go bust at midnight tonight.
Zoom7000 Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Misco will.go bust at midnight tonight. Shocking news about Misco. They have been my main supplier for over 7 years now. Sad news, especially for the staff!
3s-gtech Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 They've been my main supplier for ten years, with the same account manager throughout (one of the things I liked). Shame, I've had excellent service with warranty and haggling over the years. All the best to their staff.
VeryPC_Colin_M Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Don't worry, it's highly likely Misco UK will be saved by PCM meaning sales jobs will be safe. Apparently the PCM head honchos flew in from America to handle it personally.

DJ-1701 Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 You can prise Colin from my cold dead hands! Now THAT is a Reference if ever I heard one.

DJ-1701 Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Well, it appears that no one is at work this morning. No replies on the phones I would try again a bit later, it could well be that they are having an all staff meeting with regard to their situation.
Norphy Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Back on topic, Toucan Computing are good education Apple suppliers.
