Hi Greg

thanks for that. I am trying to find that thread on the capita forums but getting nowhere. Would you be able to post a link?

Many thanks

We've had that and a case open, Capita say it's a Microsoft problem and a known issue, however it isn't listed as a known problem on any of the KB articles so we're having a rather unhelpful discussion at the moment.

4011165 won't install from WSUS, but doesn't seem to be installed elsewhere (nor 4011150). Apparently 4011166 may also cause problems, but removing that doesn't seem to help :(.

Yeah update KB4011165 has been expired, so that might be why. I've got 2 machines that installed it before it was expired at the Primary, one of them would have to be a machine they run reports on... and uninstalling didn't help for me though. :(

It seems SCCM was pretty hot on reinstalling removed updates. Changed settings to not deply 4011165 and 4011166, ensured they where not set to deploy, rebooted the problematic machines and removed the updates again. Fingers crossed. ;)

The development team seems to have shrunk over there or are concentrating on getting cloud stuff done instead of the current sims 7

I've got the same issue with 2 of my PCs, but I can't see those KBs installed in Programs and Features. I did fine 4011166, uninstalled and rebooted, but that didn't fix the issue. Not sure what else to do and it's hampering the users ability to run a vital report.

Same with me, I get this error message however I cannot find KB4011150 or KB4011165 in the installed updates, running the uninstall from command line reports they arent installed either.

The only other one in my list of superceded updates is KB4011166, but I haven't time at the moment to uninstall the other update and install that one to see if it causes the same problem.

I managed to resolve it at one of my sites. I had to uninstall KB4011166, close down Programs and Features, launch Programs and Features again and then uninstall KB4011165 and then close down Programs and Features, launch Programs and Features again and then uninstall KB4011050.

As soon as I did this, I managed to resolve the issue. However...

I tried the exact same thing at my other school with the exact same set up and after doing this, I'm now getting the following error:

Error Code: 1004 AutoFilter method of Range class failed

No idea what to do next or why it's happening at one school and not the other with identical setups!

Hi,

Yes we've had to remove KB4011220 from machines here as it causes the same issue with Pivot tables?

Anyone got any ideas when Capita are going to resolve this?

Last update I got was that Microsoft have recognised it's a bug and it's due to be fixed in the December updates, however is subject to change and can't be accepted as a firm plan of fixing it in that update...

I have managed to sort this problem by installing a patch from Microsoft.

If you go here: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/office_sustained_engineering/2017/12/05/december-2017-non-security-office-update-release/

is a list of the patches that were released this december for office

I have found that the Excel 2016 one fixes it for us.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4011577/december-5-2017-update-for-excel-2016-kb4011577

We haven't rolled this out using WSUS yet, but I have installed it on the 3 machines that had the issue.

Thanks very much, I will be looking forward to seeing this in WSUS. :D
