  1. This seems like a no brainier for DR recovery with hyperv replication. Just need to run it by my boss.
  2. Hey guys What reader software do you use to get the UID from the mifare card? Thanks!
  3. I'm led to believe that Desktop Central from Manageengine is an alternative to SCCM, and I know of one company that uses it. I would assume that cost would come into moving away from SCCM, but IMO, I don't think it would be a good move.
  4. LibreNMS works great. What server spec does everyone use for it? We have around 100 devices.
  5. A COMMENT
  6. We had one on Cyber Security. Some of the things they picked up on - While we have encrypted memory sticks issued to staff, we still allow unencrypted to be used (not my choice) - They picked up on that not all doors where equipment is were locked - Cyber security training for staff was lacking Overall, we were found to have substantial assurance, which was one off their top level, so I was quite pleased.
  7. Anyone know if existing credit on the meter gets wiped off if you register with the supplier? Thanks!
  8. Anyone got this message when trying to install something from the Store?
  9. Just to hijack this slightly - any badge software that links into SIMS?
  10. The file probably needs to be made, however I'm not familiar with this distribution. sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces Add the lines in there, edited as appropriate.
  11. ESET from Sophos here too. ESET much better, clean, light, easy to manage, good support. Can't rate it highly enough. Just works.
  12. I followed this article and tweaked the script. Works very very well and still lets you use GPP. Best of all, scripts run synchronously, which means faster login times. Check it out here https://www.atumvirt.com/2013/11/dramatically-reducing-logon-time-to-desktop-by-moving-from-group-policy-preferences-to-powershell-logon-script/
  13. Depending on what you want to display, we install Screenly onto Raspberry Pis. Works well for us.
  14. Are you installing them manually or via the exe?
  15. We just call the MSIs directly in SCCM with /qn and /norestart flags.
  16. Apologies for digging up an old thread... Where do you get the certificate from? I thought I'd exported it from the cert store, but installing it onto a different PC then running the e-licenser install results in still being prompted to trust the cert. Also, the cert I extracted is WAY out of date. Removing the cert still allows to program to install on the original PC also. What am I missing?
  17. It took me a couple of weeks of testing, but I was working out the Windows 10 build at the same time, so if you're just concentrating on UE-V, I would expect it to be quicker. There will be a Powershell command that you can invoke on your PCs to enable UE-V. Off the top of my head it would be something like Invoke-Command -ComputerName {name} Enable-Uev The act of getting UE-V working shouldn't be disruptive. Implementing it might be tricky as everyone will lose their settings in the switch over. With summer coming up, this might be less of an issue.
  18. Have a think about the programs you want to have settings roam for. We have XMLs for Chrome, VLC, Office, Adobe Reader and other things. Decide where you want to store the settings for the users. We put them back into their redirected root folders. You'll need to enable it in Windows 10 - we do this when the computers are imaging via SCCM. Other than that, its pretty straight forward, but I would test thoroughly. Its a great piece of tech, reducing login times here to around 15 seconds on SSDs. First login between 30 and 60 seconds.
  19. I think your problem will be roaming profiles. They are no longer supported or recommended by Microsoft. I would suggest moving across to UE-V https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configuration/ue-v/uev-for-windows
  20. Yes, its called ZeroConfigExchange. Details here. https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/outlooking/2015/10/30/zeroconfigexchange-automating-the-creation-of-an-outlook-profile-for-exchange-online-accounts-and-exchange-on-premises-environments Works well, but in our environment, they keep getting asked which profile to use. YMMV
  21. Answer is: Don't bother See here http://www.edugeek.net/forums/impero-direct-support/196644-6443-edge-extension.html We Applocker Edge.
  22. Does this XML save passwords?
  23. Hi all Anyone know how this works? We tend to install Adobe Reader DC and Acrobat DC. Where Acrobat DC is installed, I'd like that to be the default PDF reader rather than Reader. If I put both into the default apps xml, putting Acrobat last, will that work, or just confuse systems without the default on? I suppose I can create a separate XML file to get round it.
