GrumbleDook Posted November 15, 2017 Author Posted November 15, 2017 When we do we get an update on this? I'll be putting up an update next week ... some suppliers have asked us for a bit more time before I feedback, so I am being nice. 1

Narwhal Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Are there details of what questions are being asked of the suppliers? Any update on this yet? thanks
nathan Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Are there details of what questions are being asked of the suppliers? Any update on this yet? thanks I would love this info too so we can do our due diligence.
GrumbleDook Posted January 17, 2018 Author Posted January 17, 2018 Afternoon all Apologies for missing responses on the recent posts. Anyone would think that there is a trade show coming up and a change in legislation. We are in the process of reviewing the response we have received and will update in due course but we are going to wait until after BETT. This is because we have so many requests for catch ups at BETT it wouldn't be fair to put some responses up and not others. We are also about to release more guidance for Suppliers as well as hosting an event for Suppliers on Friday 26th at BETT, with DfE and ICO present too (unfortunately it is a supplier only event but a space has been reserved for an EG rep). Needless to say that some of the response we have had back are to ask for more time to comment as the number of amendments that are in and out of the DP Bill, whilst nothing that has had an effect on schools yet, there are still items which effect marketing and sales, so we can understand why legal teams are keeping it all bundled together. Others just want more time or to have personal contact (next week *will* be busy!). We appreciate your patience with us and with the EdTech Supplier community out there. It is proving to be a fraught time for some, but the feeling is still very positive that we will all make it and schools will too. 3
titch Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Any update on this? Would be great to be able to add this to my ticked off list. Cheers
Ceegac Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Would love to know progress on this - and if you are still contacting new suppliers which we add to the document! Thanks for organising!
nathan Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 really could do with an update as time is running out.
gh5000 Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 They just used the info to set up their new company. You'll need to pay them for the info now. /joke Sure @GrumbleDook is plenty busy but the info would be very helpful as we get to the sharp end
Meldrew Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 I think the trouble is that nobody is compliant yet. We've been contacting our suppliers and literally none are ready, but they all plan to be in time.
The_IT_Guy Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 I think the trouble is that nobody is compliant yet. We've been contacting our suppliers and literally none are ready, but they all plan to be in time. Good for them. Doesn't help us get the right evidence in time for us to be compliant though.
Meldrew Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 Agreed. I imagine everything will have to come together at the last minute.
matt40k Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Good for them. Doesn't help us get the right evidence in time for us to be compliant though. I get what you mean, but back in the real world... Being "compliant" on day 1 is going to be very different from being "compliant" on day 100. From a enforcement point of view - it would be highly unlikely they would target schools first. GDPR isn't limited to just this Nothing stopping you contacting them directly (I'm sure some folks will regardless of the list) - this would help also as they'd much prefer to publish something vs getting spammed with requests.
GrumbleDook Posted March 12, 2018 Author Posted March 12, 2018 Mea Cupla! It has been a busy few weeks (and more yet to come) so I've not been able to feedback or update. I'm out of the office most of the week (I'll see those attending ANME North West on Thursday) so they will hear news first but we are in the processing of sorting something to make yours and suppliers lives even easier :-) I'll give a fuller update on Friday. 1

You'd have thought, wouldn't you, but 99% don't admit anything about GDPR on their website, but when you email them, they are in the process and plan to be compliant by 25th May. Meldrew

Thank you so much for the hard work you are putting into this! No need to panic everyone, plenty of time yet! MrB
nathan Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Thank you so much for the hard work you are putting into this! No need to panic everyone, plenty of time yet! MrB plenty of time to check with over 80 suppliers for us
kennysarmy Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Is it worth adding another column on the spreadsheet which would be a link to any Data Processing Information such as: https://support.roombookingsystem.co.uk/article/124-security-and-data-protection-details or Terms & Conditions | 4Matrix Online
scarecrow42 Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 For those who use SPTO, when you login, you can access all of their GDPR information.
NotSoFast Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 I asked Plickers about this back in September and chased today. Got a response straight back: Hi Simon, Thanks for writing in. We are well aware of how important your students' privacy is to you and your community. We are also aware that the EU will be enacting a stricter privacy policy in May, 2018. As such, we are currently updating our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, as well as completing the Student Privacy Pledge. Please stay tuned, as we will release a statement when we complete the processes. And just for your information, Plickers does not record or store any identifiable information about students on our servers (this is outlined in our Privacy Policy: https://plickers.com/privacy). Furthermore, Plickers definitely does not store any images or video from your mobile device on our servers. When you scan student responses, the processing gets conducted locally on your mobile device. No images are ever stored or kept on your device beyond the initial "reading" or scanning; only the student answer choice is derived. Do not hesitate to let me know if you have more specific questions about student privacy. Thank you, Richard Meyers
