Well, based on the name embossed on the front which my search was based on, it is the Batong Sunsonic BT-686 Multimedia Computer which is a Famicom (NES) clone but looks to also be an IBM-compatible PC in much the same way as the Amstrad Mega-PC is to Sega's Mega Drive.

It's an MP3 player, but I can't for the life of me say which... I remember looking at that when I was choosing my first one many moons ago... though I opted for this beast, which knocked the socks off iPods or anything anyone else was doing...

Archos?

 

Mine was Archos, yes... It had a mic as well, so doubled as a dictaphone too, and a reasonably good one... and was better (apart from the size) than anything else that was around for quite a while after... I'm sure I've still got it somewhere...
