This thing weighs 32 kg. I don't think many people would want to carry it to a LAN party.

It's not a server, but you could use it as a radiator since it was capable of dissipating 500+ watts of heat.

 

Small hint. Like some old servers, it did have four heavy duty casters.

Got it! It's the Zalman TNN-500A or TNN-500AF which were one of the world's first fanless ATX computer cases. Very innovative at the time (2003/2004) but super expensive (~£1,000 / $1,400).

 

The case was made out of 5-7mm thick aluminium, included a fanless PSU, weighed 32kg and could passively cool a Pentium 4 / Athlon 64 *and* a graphics card like the nVidia 6800 Ultra or ATi X850.

I always wanted a Zaman Reserator but never got round to getting one.

 

Back in those days, Lian Li made cheap cases, and Coolermaster made some of the nicest cases you could buy.

My brother had one of those, caused more trouble than it was worth!

 

Leaked everywhere including over his GPU, think he got rid of it after a few months.

As someone that ran a custom loop a while ago and now uses pre-made loops, amen to that!

Bleeding and refilling the loop (plus the cost of new fluid) was pain just to swap a part.

 

Though I still want to play with rigid tubing.. It looks sooo good!

Me too! The Reserators were gigantic compared to the AIO liquid coolers you have these days and had to sit outside the case. Filling it up was a bit too much hassle for me so I never bothered.

I used to have a Coolermaster ATC-201. While the case looked nice, the aluminium was really thin so the side panels had an annoying rattle due to the vibrations of the HDDs. I started buying Antec cases after that since they were a bit sturdier (not to mention cheaper).

I have a Zalman HD160XT sat in the office here. Used to use it as a media PC in the home until a few years back. The touch screen is more of a novelty than anything else and didn't actually add anything to a Windows based media setup.

Can do. HP were the company that used the name again, but not the company that built this machine (sorry if I'm being obscure, some of you have such immense experience IT going back so many years I don't want to make it too easy!)
