'Is this a joke?' Doctor Who fans react badly to the alleged casting of The Chase host Bradley Walsh as Jodie Whittaker's new companion... claiming they'd 'rather gouge their eyes out' - « Daily Mail

 

A slightly out-of-the-blue revelation took place on Monday night, as it was rumoured that The Chase host Bradley Walsh will become Doctor Who's newest sidekick.

 

And as fans woke up to the news on Tuesday, several were quick to hop onto social media to express their feelings about this.

 

'I wake up to people saying that bradley walsh is the new companion and I would rather gauge my eyes out [sic],' came one staunchly unimpressed Doctor Who fan.

 

^ Is gauging worse than gouging? ;)

Jodie Whittaker, and Bradley Walsh are unknown quantities in as far as Doctor Who is concerned.

 

I would say that deciding that something is going to be terrible before seeing it is a little premature.

Bradley Walsh the actor is very different to Bradley Walsh the comedian/tv presenter.

Can't say I'm keen on the new outfit. I get that high-waisted pants are a thing, and I get that pant-legs-cut-off-before-your-ankles is a thing, but combined it just looks like she's put on a regular pair of pants and pulled them up a bit too high.

 

The coat's quite nice, though.

[Gok]well, dearie, culottes may well be practical whilst running away from Daleks but they don't do anything for her figure, and that shapeless coat! I suppose she has tried to tie it together with the detailing on the coat matching the stripe across that frankly horrible sweater. The boots are quite nice, though.[/Gok]
