Morning,

I had an engineer remoting into my network for 5 hours on Friday to fix Solus and its still broken. For some reason its stopped deploying automatically when I deploy the agent, and its not even showing the sims application as 0.0.0.0 before it does this, the tab is missing from the Solus client.

One this I have noticed is that when I check for updates it now comes up with 'Selected package has no expected target version assigned to it, cannot deploy'

This isn't new in Autumn release is it? As in, its got all the updates so there is nothing to deploy?

Its very weird as its just messed up itself, I've done nothing. Autumn seemed to go on ok..... just after the new Year its gone haywire.

i have noticed that message this morning after deploying "SIMS Autumn 2016 - Workstation Patch 1 - Assesment POS managing Content...." deployed that fine , now get that message. Not sure if its an issue or not.

Just got a call back, there is an issue with the workstation patch that got released on the 4th.

Its been raised up the line to fix it.. the update has been pulled by the look of it.

Just have to manually install Sims on any machines I redo until its fixed.

Are you logging on to the machine that SOLUS 3 is installed on to as the same network user that installed SOLUS 3 in the beginning?

See my above. I have found that if you run the UI whilst logged on to the server as a different user to that that installed SOLUS 3 in the beginning it behaves oddly. Certain screens dissapear and some functions you just cannot do.

Kindest regards

We are having the same issues after Workstation Patch 1.

How do you do a manual SIMS install mentioned in the previous posts?

Download the autumn ISO and install the simsapplication exe from the packages folder. Like the good old days..how I miss them.

Ok, next question, what is the site for downloading the ISO files?

Good old Capita! Another royal fcuking screw up in fashionable style. Just went to deploy SIMS to a machine from Solus and found this error, checked my repository and all looked good, tried a second machine and failed so came straight to here with the error and voula!

Will do a few ISO installs until they can pull their finger out their ass.

Found it, Thank you.

Anyone found a fix yet or had Capita get back to them?

All I got on Monday was:

I'll escalate your case, you will be updated every 3 days as a resolution is worked on.

Its sad that its easier to find information about the fault here first from Google over Capita's support pages.

I got a 2nd line guy remoting in later today to have a look, not holding my breath as the last guys I had remoted into my server to fix my SolusDB tried granting Admin right left, right and center before I booted them off.

I had a second line on mine last week, its pointless as its been escalated.

I can confirm that we are aware of the error that you are experiencing when checking for updates on the SOLUS 3 agent. This issue seems to have been caused by the ‘SIMS Autumn 2016 Workstation Patch 1’, this workstation patch has now been withdrawn from SOLUS 3 and third tier are currently producing a fix for the issue that it has caused.

I will be in touch as soon as I have any more information for you.

I guess we just wait.

Ha! Guy just called me wanting to remote in, asked him to check his test VM and mentioned our lovely thread and 2 minutes later came back and said "Ow I got the same issue too on my test setup".

He's gone off to the dev's.

@chrisbradbury - Hi from Radcliffe in Wolverton :D

Had a remote session with Capita and the end conclusion was we need to do manual SIMS installs and wait until workstation patch v2 comes out. The release date for the new patch is either the end of this week or next.

Its not too bad, I wrote a simple batch file to install and copy the usual .INI files to their respective places.

And if you install the agent retrospectively, it detects that SIMS has been installed.

Anyone had an update on this yet other than "Dev's looking"? @PhilNeal - Very surprised and disappointed (even by Capita's standards) that something so major as deploying SIMS through Solus has still not been resolved after nearly 2 weeks, this is a global issue after all...

We eventually got Capita to 'solve' it for 1 of our schools through a convoluted (and so far un-replicateable) process of uninstalling and re-installing things and then matching database entries and altering install files. There is still no Knowledge Base article on the subject and we have several other schools with the same issue all logged with Capita still pending.

Did the autumn update the other day........currently having my technicians running around to about 100 laptops that are now broken.

winsock reset and a clearing of the c:\ProgramData\Capita\Solus 3\Deployments folder has helped in some cases.....in others we have had to reinstall the agent manually.

Icidentally I notice when we install the agent manually the version number DROPS from 3.11.56.1 to 3.11.56.0
