DavidLong Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Will be there on the Friday, saying over night and getting the quieter train back on the Saturday.
Griff Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 I normally go on the Friday. Haven't enjoyed the last few years that much I might try and book into the keynotes etc more this year. I just find it quite frustrating, maybe I just really dislike sales people
ICTDirect_Dave Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 After two years of limited attendance I'll actually be there tuesday afternoon through to saturday night. We've got a delightful house in Wapping for the week care of AirBnb. Looking forward to seeing you all at the show and catching up afterwards with a load of you in the Prospect of Whitby. Also, looks like we'll be trekking into london one night to tour a few amazing old pubs around the covent garden area. Any and all are welcome to join us!
timbo343 Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Only the Thursday for me this year. Hopefully i wont get too many freebies this time. It felt like i was carrying a house around with me last time.

elsiegee40 Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 Excellent. Make sure you BETT-newbies come and find us. We'll be stationed on the Smoothwall stand with free lunchtime pizza around 12 noon.

X-13 Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 I should be down on Saturday. Literally 0 chance of coming during the week.
elsiegee40 Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 I should be down on Saturday. Literally 0 chance of coming during the week. For the very best of reasons. If you fancy joining us after the show in the week, just let us know!
witch Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 @X-13 I will see you on Saturday She said slightly menacingly......
mikeprice Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 @X-13 I will see you on Saturday She said slightly menacingly...... Was going to post a youtube video of a witches laugh but wimped out - FAR too dangerous 1
AJWhite1970 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Am I the only one thinking that this thread plus the WitchHug thread is pointing towards potentially the most entertaining BETT for years
mikeprice Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Actually - maybe it should be BTRD - we don't want any 'managers' looking at these threads - we want them to think we will be working hard for the benefit of the school 1
BenQ_Support Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Everyday! Stand B180. Possibly 10 years in a row but I've lost track.
GrumbleDook Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Russdev shared a photo again a few days ago of me, him and Dos_box on the SSAT stand, meeting Ken Walsh and Tony Parkin ... 11 years ago! The same year as HUGTB (Help Us Get To BETT - a series of Moodle evangelists who set up a pop-up stall to promote Moodle) ... and HUGTB was the inspiration for the EG stand at BETT.
themightymrp Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Yippee!! I'm going for the first time, I'll be knocking about on the Thursday Will definitely drop by
Andycat Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 I'll be there Wednesday pm and Thursday am. Long list of companies to go and moan at! Will pop by to annoy Joanne at some point! 1
tg12 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Might be getting to come along on the Friday for the first time, just got to run it past people first!
simonw Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 No BETT for me this year. I don't think the budget can stand the price of the train ticket, never mind the cost of anything I might decide I want to buy there Having said that, I won't miss the hassle of trying to get out to ExCel. Must be one of the worst connected venues in London - the DLR just can't cope. Tip I found last time though - couldn't face the DLR crush on the way out, so walked down to Royal Victoria and got the Emirates Air Line cable car over to North Greenwich and took the Jubilee Line back to Central London from there. Seemed to save time, and was certainly more pleasant! On the back of this, a single trip on the Emirates Air Cable car is reduced to £2.50 for exhibitors and visitors to ExCel, for details clicky ExCel I'll be going Wednesday with a teacher in tow, going to be driving as its cheaper than the train. 3

Useful to know! There's also a bridge you can walk across to get to West Silvertown DLR
ICTDirect_Dave Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Useful to know! There's also a bridge you can walk across to get to West Silvertown DLR It's a good bridge that. If a little chilly when you're up there. Great view of the planes landing at city airport
john Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 It's a good bridge that. If a little chilly when you're up there. Great view of the planes landing at city airport Also VERY useful when the rollercoaster is broken so you walk over to West Silvertown and get on the working line. The bridge is as featured in Silent Witness this week for anyone that watches it, the floating body was in the dock around ExCeL
