Hi, Sponsor post. We do an ST Range of 4K commercial screens - 43" - 86". Has an android OS built in so can be used for casting or run our digital signage software. As someone else said the limitation is they don't have hard glass. Our entry-level RM touch screens offer hard glass and a better warranty. Also has our casting software instashare. Personally i'd go for the touchscreen even if you feel you wont regularly use the touch function. Price difference isn't much. Our instashare software allows casting from ios, windows, mac, chromebook with up to 9 way splitscreen possible. Hi All, Just looking at the original post and some of the info provided thought i'd add my views. Disclaimer I work for BenQ so have a commercial interest but we are a forum sponsor. I don't believe you will find the features you are looking for within your budget. £1000 is a pretty small budget for this kind of project (to do the job properly anyway) Personally I would look at a laser projector. Very low maintenance (no bulbs or filters). Laser doesn't have the colour issues associated with LED or LED hybrid projectors either. An 8m wide image from 10m is a 1.25:1 throw ratio so you would need to look for something in that range or buy a projector with an interchangeable lens. If you can give up the electronic zoom and focus it would bring the cost down. Can the projector not be focused on installation?

They can obviously build to fit BenQ screens but they may have designs for other manufactuers if requested. The cost will be roughly similar to the screen it's housing to give you an idea. Cheers.

ST650K - 65" 4K commercial display. Includes 3yr onsite warranty, covering use in a school environment. Depending on budget a RM6501K touchscreen would give you a longer warranty (5yrs) and is designed to be more robust (4mm safety glass etc). You could buy a cheap non-commercial 65" TV but just be aware these are not designed to be on over an extended period of time and the advertised warranty normally would exclude being used in a school environment. Hope that helps.

Googling how many lumen's is the sun brings up some interesting answers. That's what you're competing with unfortunately. Ask a friendly manufacturer for an evaluation of an 86" 4K screen for the weekend.

We (BenQ) offer 65" / 75" / 86" commercial 4K UHD display's suitable for up to 18hrs per day with commercial warranties. Price is somewhere in-between a consumer TV and our interactive range. Screen-sharing easily done either with our own app or 3rd party software/hardware solutions. My only advice to schools is that typically non-interactive commercial displays do not come with toughened glass. Some schools have felt its worth the additional cost to have a more solid screen even if they wont use the touch function fully.

We offer a range of 65" / 75" / 86" commercial 4K panels with built in screen-sharing. Price is obviously better than the interactive models. Only thing I recommend schools consider is that the touch-screens are far more robust. Would depend on the environment they are going to be used in i'd guess.

Hi Valentine, I cant comment on the Dell model above but we have a range of laser projectors up to 10'000ansi brightness. You may want to look at something like a 6000ansi projector for a medium sized hall but difficult to say without checking out the ambient light conditions. I'm confident we can offer a fully installed price below this via one of our approved suppliers and always happy to arrange an on-site demo.

Just to throw in the mix. We have a number of installers replacing these with BenQ short-throws and the mentioned mount from RA technology. Important to get the throw-ratio correct to work with the existing boom arm. Should be in the region of 0.6:1. MX825ST is the current model. 3300ansi should be more than bright enough for normal light conditions and comes with a 5yr warranty. You may be able to pick up some of the older MX819ST model still, which still offers 3000ansi of brightness and the same warranty. There's a lower cost model MX808ST as well. MX631ST should do it. Throw is 0.8-1.08 3200ansi XGA.

Nice 4K 79" Touch screen from BenQ Depends on your budget really. Room is massive so a 65" / 70" screen might look small compared to your old IWB that was prob what 78"? If you are looking at a UST projector you will probably be looking at max 3500ansi brightness, which may start to struggle after a couple of years use with the ambient light. Take a look at crestron roomview or PJ-link. Both designed to be non-vendor specific. Should work with the BenQ projectors at least (dependant on age and model I guess)

Looks like a great solution and sounds like it's really going to benefit your students and teachers. Regarding the issue’s your teachers are experiencing with monitors, it might be worth looking at a flicker free monitor. As a manufacturer we’ve put quite a lot of development into this area. We also now integrate the same technology into our larger touch-screen range. No problem! Just adding my thoughts really. Hopefully they work out for you.

We tend to offer 3-5yrs on-site warranty on our education projectors with a 3yr lamp warranty. "home" projectors are typically offered with a RTB warranty. One other consideration is that most "home cinema" projectors are exactly that and optimised for video playback. They tend to offer better contrast and colour reproduction but less brightness. A brighter "data" projector is normally recommended for classroom use with most classrooms really needing 3000 lumens+ and optimised for data use. Typically I wouldn't say that home cinema projectors are more affordable that data-projectors (Actually it's often the other way round). Personally I would always go towards the data projector. You could definitely find a video projector that does the job in a classroom but I'm sure you could pick up a decent data projector with a great warranty for the same cost if you shop around.
