Hello,

I need to source 10 iPads for our school. This sounds easy enough, but I was wondering if anyone knew of the best place to buy from? Are there special education discounts anywhere that people know about?

Buying direct from Apple using a purchase order wasn't easy in the past, so I think that would be best avoided...

TIA,

Mark.

We farm out quotes out to suppliers, BT Business, NS Optimum, MISCO, Softcat, VeryPC etc. and see who comes back with the best pricing. They can normally apply education discounts on all products. We've had great pricing through BT Business recently. Edited by IWDave

I purchased some from Jigsaw24 last week. I'd never used them before but because my account manager at Stormfront appeared to have left and they didn't answer the phone when I rang or reply to my email in a timely manner, I decided to give them a try. I had a quote, account set up and order gone through within an afternoon and the iPads came the next day.

We usually go out to multiple company's for quotes. We find Jigsaw24 to always be the cheapest. Other companies we have bought from are AMC computer supplies. You want to make sure which ever company you use that they are familiar with DEP.

Hi

I would look to using an Apple Education reseller, GBM Digital are who we use but Academia and KRCS both are good, they can help and will be able to add these to your DEP (if you have one?)

It must be noted however that their hands are pretty tied regarding prices from apple (everyones are!). You should get a good deal and they should also offer good support - pretty useful if you are doing this for the first time

+1 for Toucan, they've been great for me and given me so much support for deployment etc. They know their stuff.

Interestingly, last time I went out to get quotes on iPads, all three suppliers came back within about a fiver of each other, it was the additional items like cases and leads that made the difference. Unless you find someone running a loss leader, I think they're pretty tied with pricing for the actual devices.
