thimon Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 they do seem to escape and run away more spotted an abra and threw 1 ball and it hoofed it so now i have a spotted not caught in my poxedex again grrrrrrrr. Came across a Magneton yesterday. Gave it a berry and used an ultra ball, got a "Nice!", it escaped the ball and ran away
thimon Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Thanks folks. Will speak to the the guy in charge. It's on a common area that gets "privatised" for the duration of the festival, plus it's the official merch stall - so there may be a chance of choosing a better spot (depends on if other people are paying a premium, I guess). Can you just keep "topping up" the lure when it runs out? Usually it's landmarks and point of interests that are Pokestops, churches, parks, statues, etc. They don't appear in places with nothing of interest. When lured a Pokestop will have blossoms / hearts falling from it, when it runs out it will return to normal, then you can just add another lure to it. 1

Abra used Teleport I was totally expecting it to teleport away after it escaped the Pokeball, but no it let me catch it again. I now have a Kadabra with near perfect IVs, just need to catch 'n hatch a few more to evo it to Alakazam.

Sounds quite likely that there will be stops somewhere on the site then. Will see if I can get someone to investigate...

Of for fudge sake Can't ever get away from the competitive gits trying to number-crunch everything to "perfection". Just out of curiosity how does one check IV's and know if it's "good" or not? I may not be bothered trying to get "perfect" pokemon but it would be nice to know which are "randomly good" and which are "randomly bad" if there's more to go off than just CP and moveset.

6Foot2 Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 and an iv is? In Pokemon Go, there are three hidden stats, or Individual Values (IV). These hidden stats affect how strong your Pokemon is in Gym Battles, beyond the Pokemon's CP rating, which the game shows you: Attack Defense Stamina Link: Pokemon Go IV Calculator — Poke Assistant

DanTheLacky Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 So had a wild vapoureon appear earlier, see it pop up, got really excited, clicked it, caught it.... Then I checked the CP...... CP 27 lol, really?
CHR1S Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Wow, they are really screwing this game up, the OH and the eldest always play it in the car whilst I drive and now they upped the refresh to 10s and anything faster than a brisk walk shows no pokemon. Im also seeing virtually no km being added to my eggs too. With the 10 balls it takes to capture even the lowest CP ones now and the daily changes... im close to giving up. Today when I took the kids to the park, 1 in 3 pokemon I attempted to catch just kicked me back to the map and showed "Error" in the red banner at the top. Countless GPS lost error messages have started appearing too.
thimon Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) Im also seeing virtually no km being added to my eggs too.. I'm finding the eggs don't registering any km for ages, then all of a sudden it will catch up. Had a 10k egg showing 9.4km for ages, then all of a sudden the egg hatched :s Edited August 4, 2016 by thimon

Blue_Cookeh Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 The eggs only measure every 5 or 10 minutes. Problem is it wont track what you've done between those two points, it'll just measure straight line distance from point A to point B. So if you walk in a 2km circle and finish where you started, you'd end up with 0km.
thimon Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 The gym and pokestop that were a 1 minute walk from the school have been removed They probably got annoyed with "some people" hanging out in their car park...

thimon Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 It seems a Manchester taxi firm is doing this too... Manchester taxi firm will drive you around the city to catch Pokemon - BBC Newsbeat The article mentions that they use Pokevision or something similiar. Seeing as this article was a week ago, wondering what they're using now?
FN-GM Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Just saw a Squirtl near work. Also caught a level 700 Jynx in nandos last night. Spent like 20 balls on that!!
DanTheLacky Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 (edited) Jynx seem pretty common where I live, when I caught the one I thought it was really common but had loads of them since. Sat in a coffee shop earlier that had a lure near by, caught like 10 things in 5 minutes, was all trash but candies and xp is always good. Wish I had checked when we first got there as we was there a good half hour and I was in range of 3 pokestops Edit: Good haul tonight, in 45 minutes got all these and about 6 makicarp.
