Popular Post SimpleSi Posted June 22, 2016 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2016 After many years at the front line, I'm retiring from the fray. I've tried to deal with the changes but Win19m build 87664,3342,545 has pushed me over the edge! In all seriousness, I'm packing in my meagre efforts at keeping things running in primary schools in South Lancs. To say that the job would be impossible without Edugeek is a given. The ability to call upon the combined might of Edugeekers has gotten me out of many a tight spot. Trying to remember doing the job before Chris and Shaun set this place up is like trying to remember what it was like washing clothes in the stream at the bottom of my garden. I'd like to thank (nearly) everyone for all the help and assistance over the years and the friendships made with Edugeekers at the conferences. [i said nearly as I've had my share of battles with some right plonkers on here and I don't like being two-faced ] Good luck to all of you in the future :-) regards Simple Simon 17
localzuk Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Are you retiring completely, or just giving up the IT stuff? Regardless, don't be a stranger! Pop in and say hi sometime.
RichCowell Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 (edited) Good luck in the future! Your schools have been lucky to have you! Dos_Box Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Aww Simon, it's sad to see you leaving the schools IT sphere, you were one of the big characters (as well as one of our earliest members) from my days with LancsNGFL. I wish you all the best for the future and please, don't be a stranger 1
Dos_Box Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Good luck in the future! Your schools have been lucky to have you! Do you remember the old LancsNGfL Forum we used to have? My God! Where did you get that from? As part of my last real job I had to run that forum which was very sucessful in getting all the Lancs techies talking and helping each other out. So much so I suggested to my bosses that we perhaps open it up to the rest of the UK. They didn't like the idea, so I made EduGeek 2
RichCowell Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 My God! Where did you get that from? I use a personal homepage with all my regular links on... I've never deleted images from the images directory so got them all going back to when I started it many moons ago... Definitely a blast from the past!
witch Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Sorry to see you go, @SimpleSi You have given me a lot of laughs as well as tech info over the years. Good luck in all you do from now onwards 1
DJ-1701 Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Sorry to hear you are leaving, but hope you do stick around on the forum, even if it is just from time to time. Wishing you all the best in all that you do.
SpuffMonkey Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I was going to say how impressed I was that you announced your retirement with exactly 6000 posts - but then you posted another and it still showed 6000 :/
googlemad Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 It's a bug when posting from Internet Explorer 6 2
southhamster Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Wouldn't that be 666 posts as Internet Explorer is cursed...
