  1. I may not have been a great contributor to this form over the last fifteen years, but I have monitored the forums on a daily basis and picked up loads of good information – for which I thank you all. I have been in ‘Educational IT Support’ now for 18 years and was even a member of the forerunner to this forum (Nod to DOS_BOX), but it is now time to hang up my hat and sail of into the sunset of retirement (having had a previous 23-year career in the military). Thanks for everything and Goodbye Edugeek. Regards Paul L
  2. Yes exactly!!!! Great Customer service - not!
  3. Hi Jez, Thanks, BT LS now confirmed they have a problem and are looking into, ticket has been raised, but they have told one of our schools 'That schools at the moment are not a priority'! Paul L
  4. Morning All, Hope you are all safe and well. Got quite a number of our Schools reporting Internet Issues, seems to have started late PM 21 April and continuing today (22 April) Been in contact with BT LS and they are saying its not them and its our problem (and yet we have a number showing the same symptoms)! Anyone else in BT LS Land experiencing Internet issues? Thanks Paul L Okay, scratch that - BT LS now have recognised there is a problem!
  5. Just wondering if anyone else in a Lancashire Primary School is using this and whether it's working 100%? I have 3 primary schools and just can't get it working fully in any of them! Have put all the 'bypasses' in etc. it will sync the pupil data (as uploaded to app developers), but planning sync, very hit and miss and pupil progress, syncing across devices (iPads) does not seem to work at any of the schools. Would be grateful for other peoples experiences. Regards Paul
  6. Thanks everyone, sorry not replied sooner. Not wanting to go into to much detail, but a number of you have hit on all the right assumptions!!! Will be having words and sorting it out!! Many Thanks Paul
  7. You have hit the nail on the head there, 240GB SSD and struggling to sync off-line files!!!!
  8. As per the title! I think it is, your thoughts would be most grateful Paul
  9. I just gave ours a static IP address and added it to the 'NSW-Unfiltered' group and it seems to work okay. Paul
  10. Have tried that I'm afraid and as soon as Capita realised we were a Lancashire school they just said sorry can't help you, you need to speak to BT LS :-(
  11. Funny, you should post this, we have just had the same thing, BT LS refusing to give us the password, saying the Solus 3 Site Registration Password is the property of Capita and so we (the school) are not entitled to know it!
  12. Is this from an iPad? or a device not on your domain (ie a device that does not have the agent on)?
  13. Sorry for the late response it's transparent
  14. Wondering if anyone else has seen this? Having migrated a couple of schools now to Netsweeper, we are seeing consistently slower speeds then before migration. In some cases, half speeds and even down to 2.1Mbps. Can people try some speed tests and see if its less then before? Unfortunately (or otherwise) I was around when they tried Netsweeper 5 or 6 years ago and one of the main issues then was speed!! Thanks in advance Paul
  15. Just had confirmation that an issue with the SSL filtering on Lightspeed has been identified, resulting in slow and unresponsive page loads, this is now being investigated.
  16. Yes getting this in chrome as main browser used, am trying others.
  17. I was guessing so!
  18. O! Sorry, they are the forwarders I have been using/told to try
  19. using 212.219.82.4 and 212.219.83.4 (the very old original) Now been told to try: 5.149.14.5 5.149.14.6 or 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 The last 2 here being Google DNS of course Paul
  20. It would appear since the recent firewall upgrades by BT Lancashire Services, a couple of the schools I look after are having connectivity issues, where Internet pages are ‘timing out’ or getting page ‘not responding’ errors. I have been in contact with BT LS, but they are treating me as a single entity and are saying they can’t see a problem and it must be a local issue to my school. And yet it is happening at more than one of my schools (but not all). So just trying to find out whether anyone else out there in the BT LS land is having issues (and maybe being told the same as me) like me? Thanks in advance. Paul
  21. Netsweeper does do AD Groups, but only from a dedicated OU called Web Filtering Groups
  22. Does seem rather convenient, exactly 30 days after the start of the new contract year they announce a change of filtering solution, think schools could leave based on changes in terms of contract without penalty
  23. Here we go again, last time Lancsngfl used Netsweeper it lasted just 1 year and was a complete disaster!! Can see lot's of schools heading for the exit over this one
