I really like it. It is a solid weight, feels about right, not too light as to feel cheap. A slight weighter than my old Note 4.

 

I love the fingerprint scanner on it. Instant, just tap (none of this swiping rubbish), and I found out yesterday it recognises upside down as well!

Yeah, love the feel of mine. Feels premium quality (well, it is), can't complain. Had a nexus 5 prior to this, and definitely prefer this. Certainly prefer it over the iPhone 6 or Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to hold.

My son has just bought one of these - he's pretty happy with it - except the wifi connection seems a bit flaky - anybody else having/fixed this problem?

Mine's absolutely solid on anything but Virgin's crappy superhubs. Fine at home (asus router), fine at my schools with ruckus or unifi. Keeps dropping out on my friends Virgin.

Wi-fi seems pretty strong. I use apps from BT, O2 etc as well and they work well too.

3 weeks in now, no issues at all. Just blown away by how the features are all things I would expect on a modern phone in the right places, as if I had designed it for me. OK I know a lot of this is Android 6 but their OxygenOS has stripped out a lot of the rubbish. Battery is excellent too, easily get to the end of a normal day with about 30% battery left. Waiting for my wireless charging coil and charger to arrive now.

I have mine connected to the Volkswagen RNS-510 and it works just fine. I guess your upto date with software on both radio and mobile?

There was a problem with car Bluetooth fixed a couple of updates ago. I used to have a slight problem like you say Ricki. Got a lot worse with one update but seems solid now. I have a few people connecting to it regularly and it's remained working.

OnePlus 3T rumored to be unveiled, comes with Snapdragon 821

 

Earlier this month rumors started swirling that OnePlus might be halting the production of its very popular OnePlus 3 flagship, and focus on a brand new, updated model. Those rumors are back now and they’ve brought some evidence along for the ride.

 

OnePlus is expected to announce the launch a new handset, supposedly called the 3T, which will offer mildly updated specs over the current model. A new device, with model number A3010 has already passed through China’s Compulsory Certification, similar to the FCC, lending credence to this rumor. A supposed OnePlus designer has also posted a status on Weibo from a OnePlus 3T phone.

 

Back when the original rumors started, there was strong speculation that OnePlus might opt to switch the current OLED panels inside of the OP3 flagship for LED displays. This would have helped with the shortages and delays that the company has faced since the launch of its flagship this summer. However, OnePlus’ Carl Pei quickly jumped in and said that the company was definitely sticking with OLED panels.

 

As such, the only improvement expected inside the OnePlus 3T model is a new processor. That’s the only department where the company has fallen short of the current market, and by no fault of its own. Back when the OnePlus 3 was released, the top-of-the-line model was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU, but now the Snapdragon 821 is a standard feature of every top-tier device.

 

It's clear that with just an updated processor, a possible OnePlus 3 successor like the 3T would not be marketed at existing customers, but rather at those upgrading from older devices or are looking for a brand-new smartphone.

 

However, if this upgraded model doesn’t help OnePlus with the shortage and delay problems it’s facing, it would be a very peculiar move for the company to launch a new device in the middle of its production cycle.

More specifications are being tossed around about the OnePlus 3T that will supposedly have a quad HD LCD. At least, that’s what the rumors keep saying — company co-founder Carl Pei has insisted that Optic AMOLED is far superior.Backing that display is a Snapdragon 821 with 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage. Battery capacity goes up 10 percent to 3,300mAh. Finally, there should be a black variant that will leave Soft Gold lovers questioning their purchasing decision.All of the above represent either lateral moves or slight improvements from the OnePlus 3’s specifications.That London event is rumored for Monday, November 14.

They tweeted the other day, teasing something new and an emphasis on the letter "T". If this 3T is what it is, then it might be the phone I upgade to from my slowly faltering OnePlus One.

 

Speaking of, has anyone had any experience with OnePlus support/repair? I, rather annoyingly, dropped my OPO a week ago and smashed the screen. I put in a support ticket and was all confirmed last Saturday, but I've been waiting for a shipping label all week. Meanwhile, it still sits on my desk at home, waking itself up diligently every morning to wake me up...

Well - now here is where they let themselves down. I bought a tempered glass screen protector when i got the OP3. Went to put it on, found it was split. Went through their support channel, all fine and agreed to replace - until the last moment when they told me that because I had not reported it in 48 hours of delivery, they will not help. So left with nothing. They were very cut off about it, saying that it is too late, thanks for contacting support, goodbye...

I had pretty much the same thing. I had one that began to crumble over night after 2 days (it was on charge on a table). They wouldn't do anything. I opened a case with paypal and PayPal give them 10 days to respond or it will fall in my favour. They responded 3 hours before and paypal found in the favour of them without explanation.

I did mine myself. It's a well put together phone and quite easy to work on.
