Grey-gear Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 So for those that weren't aware, it was Safer Internet Day yesterday. The slogan could be..."Be safe, eat a pancake"
Joanne Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 I had a pancake party, because it was my birthday too. I did 15 eggs worth of pancakes and there were only 2 left at the end. We had sausage, bacon and cheese and then nutella, biscotti spread, lemon, sugar, berries and cream. ALL DA PANCAKES! 2
smithson83 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 I'm gonna just say it... I don't really like pancakes 1
LeMarchand Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 I'm gonna just say it... I don't really like pancakes Get 'im, good people!! 2
Grey-gear Posted February 11, 2016 Author Posted February 11, 2016 I'm gonna just say it... I don't really like pancakes That's fine, I'm sure we all have things we hate eating that others like eating. For me it Baked Beans
NeustroEduIT_Christine Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I'm a little bit late to the thread but we had pancakes too - homemade of course We did a normal set, then a set of fudge pancakes. Toppings consisted of... Cadburys Crème Eggs (slightly warm/melted), Banana, Strawberries, Golden Syrup and sugar - not all together on one pancake obviously. My partner bought some pre-done ones just in-case 'I did them wrong' - which was obviously highly offensive 1

LeMarchand Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Besides miss the frying pan, I'm not sure what you can do wrong with pancakes You need a good non-stick pan or they'll end up stuck to the pan + they can be too thick or get burnt. 1
elsiegee40 Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 And the pan needs to be hot enough. The first pancake out is often not good, after that the pan temperature seems to stabilise. I tried the flora spray oil for greasing the pan this year and was impressed with it 1
Norphy Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 You need a good non-stick pan or they'll end up stuck to the pan + they can be too thick or get burnt. Ach, tripe. As long as the pan has enough fat in it (butter for preference), non stick is not necessary. 1
NeustroEduIT_Christine Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 That was my words exactly I'm not skilled enough to do the flip, it's a timed/structured 'flip' with a spatula! Maybe next year... 1
eyetea Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Did 3 each for the Mrs and me - flipped the first one (which came out okay too!), but as our frying pan has fairly high steep sides, it doesn't lend itself for good flipping! Standard toppings of golden syrup + lemon juice! 1
CAM Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 We skipped pancake day in our house and had a few large pizzas instead. 2
crispybits Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I haven't had pancake day yet but I never stick to the proper date anyway and usually have 3-4 pancake days every year 1
Popular Post DJ-1701 Posted February 11, 2016 Popular Post Posted February 11, 2016 I haven't had pancake day yet but I never stick to the proper date anyway... Ah, so you have a non-stick plan... 5
korifugi Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) 4oz flour, half pint of milk, 1 egg. Beat together. Easy peasy. Pah! Half a pint of real ale, half a pint of self raising flour, 1 egg. Beat together. Makes about 4 thick ones Edited February 11, 2016 by korifugi 1
Localtechie Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I made Oreo pancakes first time but won't be the last so good! 2
just_david Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 mmm pancakes. One of the few that actually taste as good as the real thing. They'd be healthy too, if i didn't slather them with golden syrup, lemon juice and sugar 1
john Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Pancakes are nom nom I use 2 eggs in that size mix however @elsigee40 1
crispybits Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Ah, so you have a non-stick plan... oh you didn't..... *sigh* 2
