Looks awesome but so many of them have massive bundles of cables held together with like 5000 zip ties, would hate to have to replace a cable in that.

All well and good, but what happens if you want to unpatch one or you have a new one to plug in....

I'd be tempted to go a plug in a different coloured cable, strung straight across the front. Sit back and watch the guy who spent all that time twitch and have a mental break down, just before saying, only joking, was just testing the switch config...

Can't remember which it was but saw a video of a datacentre somewhere that puts a ridiculous amount of effort into cable management. They even have teams of people that go around riding on electric trolleys just to replace patch cables. They are all cut to the exact length, are a specific colour depending on purpose and are cable tied in a way that means you can replace any patch cable by snipping just one tie. They also have an SLA of something like 10 minutes for any patch cable in the entire datacentre that needs replacing/repatching!

We use PatchSee cables cable management, ethernet cable management, network cable management, patching frames, patch panels with these you can use a torch which sends the light down the patch cable.

 

All our cabling is about the same standard, all neatly fed down the sides of the cab with up to 5 fully populated 48 port switches with all cabling passed through to the back.
