Sharepoint - Weird Excel/macro issue

Hi All, 

 

I have a weird issue regarding SharePoint. Fell like I have to bullet point this is confusing for myself

 

• Finance creates excel document on SharePoint for entire trust (6 schools) for month of August fine. 
• Comes to September and is also fine. They work on a master sheet then use macros to generate the figures for each school.
• Our finance gets a call and says the figures that have been sent are the same as August. We check indeed they are, the master files are showing the same for Aug and September. They use the same document just wipe the figures and put the file in the correct month.  
• We check the master file for September - which has a date of September 17th with no previous versions. The macro files that have been generated for the schools are showing 25th September (when it was worked on)
• So why is the master file showing different date when the generated files are correct (Just double checking these) 

 

The only solution I can think of is doing it again. But this is something that takes a couple of days to do so would rather not have the delay.
