  1. Haha..... Breathed too loudly I think... Apologies I meant different year groups as one detention.
  2. Good afternoon, We have recently migrated to Arbor and are currently setting up our Behaviour module. We have encountered an issue whereby we are unable to set up year group detentions via workflows. We understand that detentions can be configured easily when they are set for the whole school, which works well for our extended Wednesday detention. But we cannot find a way to create detention workflows for individual year groups. Has anyone else using Arbor encountered this issue? If so, how did you get around it? At the moment, it appears that teachers will need to enter any detentions into Arbor manually. Regards, Ross

    BCD Issue

Is this on an 'older' computer running W11? Has the BIOS been updated on this workstation? I have had an issue with older computers but seems fine after a BIOS update. Regards Ross
  4. Have moved on this from this by just putting the software on 1 machine. Has saved me so much hassle as staff no longer leave the software running on there own machine and not causing problems. The lite version of LVMS is also more reliable. Regards Ross
  5. What anti virus are you running? I have seen this with us and we are running Sophos. Whatever your running try uninstalling one one and see if they reappear. Regards Ross
  6. I believe there were some issues with 23H2 that caused a variety of problems. We experienced apps not working and computers resetting, but after deploying the 25H2 image, those issues disappeared. Regards, Ross
  7. We have the same issue with our Music students. We created a set of dedicated “Exam” user accounts for them (around 12), and we store any coursework in the Exam user’s home area. It can be a bit tedious, but we just ask students to place any required work into a folder by a set date. We then move it over and send them the credentials. We used to rely on WordPad, but now we use ExamWritePad instead. There's no Exchange or A1 licence on those accounts, so there’s no way for students to communicate with each other.
  8. To young to see him play but loved him on big break and his commentary was brilliant. 'Where's the cue ball going!!!' will live on for many years.
  9. Hi Jaydee, Yes we found that surprise yesterday but apparently it was told but I never saw the message. On the Nextgen page click the 3 dots on the top of the right hand side and select 'SIMS connected launcher'
  10. Hello, I believe there is also different installation files for stand alone Techsoft. Which I got from the portal but might be the reason it is looking for a school type licence. I just sent the user the files and activation code and they have managed to get on with no issues. Regards Ross
  11. We are aware of an issue impacting SIMS Connected this morning that is resulting in degraded performance and login problems for users. This issue is under investigation as a high priority, and your case has been linked to a Major Case record for this problem. Further updates will be provided via the case when available. We apologise for the disruption. Just got this from SIMS via SchoolsICT. Ross
  12. Will add another 2 schools to that count. Same error. Regards Ross
  13. We have given it a static IP which is on the network range. The wireless device is on a different VLAN so that is why it cant see it. But it is not isolated VLAN so it can see the network. How would you route it on the Smoothwall Network > Routing > Subnets? Regards Ross
  14. Good Morning all, We have just had Soundcraft mixer installed at my school. We have it all connected but the only way we can connect to the UI is using a networked device. I really need this to be accessed on a wireless device but once I have put the IP in, it just comes up with URL not found. A ping on a wireless laptop also can't connect but can on a networked one. So, this means it is not being seen because it is a local IP? Am I looking at my Smoothwall or Meraki to alter settings to allow this through? Regards Ross
  15. Yes at two sites, plus Smoothwall blocking it due to 'Socket error' Regards Ross
  16. I’ve also found this challenging when working with shared profiles. I couldn’t get Smoothwall to communicate properly with Meraki and then with the iPad—something always seemed to go wrong. The biggest issue was not being able to view their browsing history. In the end, we opted for single app mode with the highest level of filtering. It’s not the most efficient use of the iPad, but it does prevent any inappropriate or unintended usage. Ross
  17. Morning, I have been stuck with a SAR that I am doing. Microsoft have changed eDiscovery so I am struggling to get a .pst file loaded up on outlook. Before there was an exchange.pst file that I could just import to Outlook and my messages would come up. Now, I just get the inboxes of the one I have searched but can't load them up onto outlook. Am I missing a tickbox when trying to download the export or is there another way of getting the messages uploaded to Outlook. Regards Ross
  18. I use Sperry Software Powerful Outlook Add-ins, Plugins, & Tools by Sperry Software. Its a paid software but it was needed as we were getting so many SARS come into the school. Once you get your head around it and adjust the settings to suit your needs its does the job of converting to .pdf. Regards Ross
  19. Good morning, Hope everyone is enjoying the summer. We’ve been running SIMS Connected since Easter, and one recurring complaint is the session timeout. I’ve configured Edge settings under System and Performance > Performance > Never put these sites to sleep, but users still report that after a period of inactivity (no one can pinpoint exactly how long), they’re met with a “Your session has ended” message and need to sign in again. I understand and agree that timeouts are generally a good thing—especially since many staff don’t lock their computers. That’s why I’ve have only done this in locked offices where we enforce a strict access policy. So my question is: Is there a better way to manage this timeout—GPO? Regards, Ross
  20. Yes!!!! It was working this morning after the update but last half hour has made our ticket system explode with SIMS not working. Regards Ross
  21. It was very inconsistent at recognising what the user was saying. I feel like not enough time was given to this but I have been asked to look at the next option. I think ideally ultimate control of the computer which is why Dragon looked so good, but there seems to be alot of options for Dragon, so if we were to go down that road then I want to use the correct one.
  22. Afternoon, I have a teacher who is suffering from a medical condition that affects their hands. It has been suggested that we look into software that could help her. We are a Microsoft School, but the teacher does not get along with the dictation feature in Word. I am trying to encourage them to use it more, but I feel like I am fighting a losing battle. Does anyone use any speech-to-text software in schools? How much are you paying? I have seen Dragon Software, which seems to do everything we need, but I would have to buy multiple licenses for the office and teaching classrooms which does not seem cost effective. Many thanks for any advice. Regards Ross
  23. So today, users are unable to see who has 'Thanked a teacher' due to the website being blocked as the classic 'The server certificate did not match the domain name' look who The teaching awards and it is Pearson. Trying to get hold of anyone taking responsibility for it though is proving a challenge. Regards Ross
  24. Yes have finally got through and manage to speak a very help person at Pearson. He did try to send me information on how to whitelist which I refused to do. So has escalated it to the technical team. Case number is 52465337 if anyone else wants to quote. Regards Ross
  25. I did think this was a Pearson issue as I have problems with them before over websites. Will have to speak to their useless customer service tomorrow. Many thanks for confirming this. Regards Ross
