It wasn't too bad in the main town where I live though and all the main roads to work where clear, although I was at the Girlfriends house last night out in the stick on a high hill and it didn't stop snowing from 7pm until about 4am this morning. My girlfriend can't even get off her drive this morning and it's proper thick snow.. If onlyI lived there, I'd have an excuse for a day off

Chuckster Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I ended up being late in to work this morning because my car doors were frozen solid. It took me a good 20 minutes to get them to open, and when I did manage to get in I discovered my entire area, including the neighbouring area, were ungritted. There were plenty of fools driving around like it was a racing course, with plenty having no idea how to drive in the few cm's of snow.

Panic, stock up your cupboards with pot noodles and hide until the 3cm of snow has gone away. We've have snow/sleet and hard ice here for a few days. Needless to say the local councils have done absolutely no gritting whatsoever, whilst appearing on the local news declaring their 'readiness' for the 'extreme' weather.

elsiegee40 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Well .. Its snowing buckets here. must have 4 inch of settled snow outside the door already ! Hmmm. Mr gee40 is supposed to be working in Leeds and Harrogate Monday to Wednesday next week. Could be an interesting drive up.

My youngest is supposed to be traveling back to uni in Bristol later on today by train. This is more than the 7 snowflakes required to paralyse the county, so I am hoping for a rapid thaw
