What is everyone using now days?

I need to install some speakers into a classroom that doesn't have a IWB. I did use Nuvo speakers before, but I don't think you can get them anymore.

Thanks

I wonder if you arnt as well of these days with a cheapish soundbar?

Have put in 3 of these so far. I suspect that they won't last long (especially as we all know how good staff are at turning things off...). That said, the main problem to date has been that the ones I've used are a plug-in brick + lead type and the length of the lead isn't great.

These. Just do the job, I'm replacing the little Creative things some numpty thought were loud enough for a large classroom. Well, to be fair, they are as long as the room is empty.

We specced Creative T20 speakers for classes back in 2007, most are still going strong so long as we wall mounted them out of the way (they don't like being knocked off desks!) Those go very loud and sound lovely, but as with anything they do need to be up to the job.

Another +1 for the Saharas. I started using them about 6 months ago to replace old sets as they fail, and I'm liking them so far. I can't personally report on longevity yet, but I've started using them as they seem to have a good long-term reputation. The optional wired remote is well worth it, and very handy, and they sound pretty decent.

Just installed some Roth Soundbars, sound great and have bluetooth which is really useful.

slightly concerned about having bluetooth tbh as i could see kids playing all sorts through them if they manage to keep hold of their phone or are using an ipad etc

A soundbar, no matter how good, is going to be working it's nuts off trying to cover a hall full of rustling kids.

This is why you need someone who knows something to go and LOOK at the hall, and the school's needs. We can't, in all honest, recommend kit with the information we have. Maybe we could advise that Brand A is more reliable than Brand B, but that's about as far as we can go.

Oops; wrong thread. I'm still not sure of a Soundbar though...

At my last school I had these installed and they were great, only had one problem and that was BNIB, turned out to be power supply dead, I know its obvoious check but do try, I missed it as just assumed it worked as it was brand new.

Fun fact, Roth Audio is owned by my secondary school English teacher's brother.

When my teacher had her son, the owner of the company named a line of speakers after him!

I assume the power works as there is a light on but there are no input modes displayed, should there be? they were also BNIB
