I'm still thoroughly enjoying Vox Machina. It's been a lot of fun picking out all the bits that are more or less directly translated from the D&D campaign.

Here's a good - is somewhat NSFW - example from episode 3.

Started Reacher and really enjoying it. I'm annoyed with myself that I'm not finding the time to binge the remaining 4 episodes!

Watched the last 3 last night... sometimes its good to be home isolating :)

Was a bit underwhelming by the last one... fell into cliché but overall quite a good watch.

The problem with Reacher is that it isnt just that the actor isnt 6ft 6 etc, more that it is an integral part of the books. His size and muscularity often comes into the stories - sometimes it helps him, sometimes it doesnt. Without that there is an important element missing afaic

Watching All of us are dead on Netflix

Bonkers Korean zombie series. Amusing that the characters reference Last train to Busan quite often!

I wanted 3 of the zombie thingy and the dubbing annoyed me... I ended up just watching the last 10 minutes where its all a part of squid games... oops

The dubs on Netflix re nearly always awful. Go for the subs (though they sometimes don't actually translate what's being said).

Really enjoying it too. I was a bit sceptical with the first couple of teasers I saw but it is really great. Even the Mrs who isn't into it and is a bit disparaging of "cartoons" was laughing at parts.

Been watching it with both my boys who are loving it. Funny enough haven't had chance to watch ep 4-6 yet as I have been busy putting content together for a campaign I'm running for my youngest son and his college mates.

Edit: Did you notice that Matt cameo on the cloakroom attendant in that episode? :)

Matt is playing a load of minor roles in addition to Sylas Briarwood. But the cloakroom attendant was my favourite because it was his face!

Another small detail I like is the table in their keep is the same as the one they all sit around to play the campaign.

So many easter eggs.

Finished the Book of Boba Fett last night. The second half of the series was much better than the first and it's easy to see why things looked off early on.

They clearly spent all the budget on the last couple of episodes!

A good finale with room for a second series and also sets Mandalorian Series 3 up nicely.

I do understand why some fans were disappointed in it - there was some silly parts (e.g. things outrunning something only to have it appear 'right behind them' in the next scene ), but to me this just reminded me of the 'not serious' nature of the original 3 movies where similar sorts of things either happened or felt like they could happen.

Personally I still it (possibly because I'm not that bothered by looking much below the surface) and can't wait for Obi Wan in May, and the next seasons of these two.

I think the main problem is that it comes off the heals of The Mandalorian, so that's the benchmark to compare against. I liked the series as a whole, but for me, it was the action scenes that really left a lot to be desired.

Well yes, that is probably a comparison which does BoBF no favours in that regard.

My issues with the early part of the series wasn't so much the action scenes - they were an 'issue' later on (as per my previous reply) but still not major - but more the jumping around in time.

This can definitely work for certain series (see Witcher season 1) when done right, but in BoBF they just made each episode feel too condensed and also too sporadic at the same time. I'd have much rather than episodes 1 & 2 split in half, with episode 1 dealing with the past and episode 2 dealing with the present, rather than each trying to cover half and therefore not doing justice to either.

Finished Reacher S1 (Amazon), which was highly enjoyable. Also the third and final season of Lost in Space (Netflix), which was also a fitting end to the show: a bit "bigger" than normal and a conclusion that finished the story in a reasonable length of time but left room for later continuation of new adventures. LiS was never the greatest show ever, but it was good at what it did.

I did enjoy Season 1, it quite obviously deviated from its source material, but it was still a decent sci-fi show.

I keep meaning to revisit the later seasons, but just never got around to it.

Finished The Cuphead Show! on Netflix last night.

I dunno, maybe I'm missing out on something by having not played the game, but I wouldn't really recommend it.

While the animation was nice and some of the hijinx very much reminded me of Tom and Jerry, overall it just wasn't bad, but outside of a few moments it wasn't really good either.

Inventing Anna - Netflix, down to the last episode now so no spoilers please, but we all know what happens anyway.

Been entertaining and funny and amazed us how people actually fell for the confidence tricks, although a lot of it is made up and just pure conjecture on behalf of the series we have enjoyed it.

When con artists talk the talk and your sucked in by your own greed you tend to fall right into their hands.

The Mrs was watching it last night whilst I was making dinner - it sounded (from the few bits I overheard) very similar to The Tinder Swindler (which is also worth a watch FYI) in terms of how she operated. And none of the victims were 'idiots' (some greedy, easily manipulated perhaps).

Would be interesting if the two (Anna & TTS) met :D who would come off better/worse.

Only seen a quick trailer... anything like 'The Boys/Doom Patrol/Jupiter's Legacy but on steroids...?

Glad it's not just me that thought that. I can't work out who it is aimed at - it's certainly not me!
