bossman Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 @Dos_Box: I have 4 people of which 2 are young adults who constantly stream everything from every device they have, this is my usage for l month, We have unlimited superfast fibre from TalkTalk so no problems there.
JRowley Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Just because they don't tell you what you've used doesn't mean they aren't tracking it. I'd be highly surprised if it's not part of various metrics they need to report on, especially for the marketing side when planning upcoming sales campaigns. No, of course they are tracking it, but they don't track it for my benefit is what I mean. I don't have access to it.
LeMarchand Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Not used it, but this might help those not getting reports: https://www.softperfect.com/products/networx/
difinity Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 My lowest usage has been 94GB a month going up to 210GB this year. Lots of Windows updates and drivers, I stream and torrent. On a side note, I've just discovered dd-wrt has very nice usage graphs and stats.
pcstru Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 With the speed of my home broadband, I'm hoping to finish downloading this months bit before the end of the month.
Muz Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Online gaming uses minimal bandwidth by the way so that's not the issue
localzuk Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Online gaming uses minimal bandwidth by the way so that's not the issue true, but they also tend to have a lot of updates.
jamin100 Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Got mine yesterday 736GB That's with 3 kids streaming Netflix and YouTube plus online gaming added onto anything I do or stream
Muz Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 true, but they also tend to have a lot of updates. Good Point, especially if you have a Xbox One and Halo MCC..
bashy Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Netflix, you tube and Iplayer I wish At .5 Mb we are lucky to browse the web. 3 kids and parents.
rich_tech Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 See what you all mean now, I had the email earlier, apparently I downloaded 375gb last month, just the usual / netflix / youtube / browsing and a couple of downloads from the steam sale
MatthewL Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Just looked on my SuperHub: That is just me with around 20 devices connected and my Sonos which I steam about 3 or 4 hours a day of the radio. When I was at home on ADSL with PlusNet we used to sit around 60-80gb a month with the 3 of us although the majority is my brother looking at what he uses now. We was unlimited but fair useage of 60Gb before speed capped. How can I find out on Virgin's website to see what my useage is?

LincolnE Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 I can't find out, due to being on BT. I expect it to be in the ~300gb a month, however.
Pottsey Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 If someone is watching HD TV or Ultra HD TV is soon goes up.
sted Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I can't find out, due to being on BT. I expect it to be in the ~300gb a month, however. its annoying that yes im on unlimited but im curious to know what my usage is
JRowley Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 (edited) Well it took me a total of 40 minutes to get this information from Sky: Last month you used 229.17GB in the months May-June, in April-May you used 340.92 and currently you are using 191.60GB for this month and next. On the plus side after an hour of talking to them I had my bill with Sky reduced by £10 for a year. Edited June 15, 2015 by JRowley
andydis Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 does anybody have a bandwidth usage for their school broadband? , we have a managed connection and i have just requested it from our provider.....
Irazmus Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 does anybody have a bandwidth usage for their school broadband? , we have a managed connection and i have just requested it from our provider..... We've not got proper stats, but I can give you some basic stats from ifconfig. Download of 2.2TiB and upload of 199.6 GiB over a period of 312 days. That gives an average of around 7 GiB per day, which interestingly is very similar to my home stats.
sparkeh Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Got my VM statement too, 75Gb for 3 months? I was staggered it was so low??
MatthewL Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Be interesting to see the stats for schools total number of users/number on roll, type and totals.
featured_spectre Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Over the last month I've hit close to 90GB...but thats mainly just gaming and youtube. If I buy a film on sky or download some games etc, then it shoots up. Xbox usage seems to make it go up very quickly.
