All they need to do is make the games online MP only and you're buggered. No LAN/offline MP. And if you're doing online MP it'll have to authenticate against Nintendo's servers to ensure you're paying your racket like a good little stooge monthly subs. I don't think they could get rid of local multiplayer without an uproar though? They may well do something funky with wi-fi direct for local games though, I'm sure there'll be a £10 dongle and software that can mimic that though!

Completely, but local would be many-people-one-console so no need for networking software. I very much suspect the homebrew community will be building some kind of response to this though. I haven't homebrewed my switch yet, but I probably will at some point.

For dlc thats a good expansion ive got less enjoyment/time out of full games before now. took me about 30 hours and there is still stuff i could do if i wanted (community/side quests ive missed, skill trees to finish, super bosses to kill etc) probably wouldnt work as well if you haddnt played the main game first but the end hit me like a truck even though i knew roughly what was going to happen started dragon quest 11 and so far its very meh the music is ok to annoying (which is a massive change from xb2/torna where its fantastic) to the point im debating turning it off. ive gotten far enough into it that my party has 4 characters but im still not really feeling it its obvious that big event near the start will be undone by deus ex machina later on in the game. the voices are a bit odd as well its definitely anime but when they are talking in west country/southern.who knows what accents its odd to say the least. its not a bad game (so far) but it just seems to be missing something the fact ive only died once and that was due to basically being too lazy to heal up before a boss and ive been avoiding a lot of fights leads me to believe its not going to be a hard game to complete im just wondering if i might have more fun playing tomb raider

Everyone I know that's played multiple of them has indicated it felt pretty repetitive. I know I posted it on Discord but I don't think I posted it here.. @failnator and I have started playing Modded Starbound (Frackin' Universe + some racial mods), anyone is welcome to join us, all you need is Discord Edit: Er, and Starbound, obviously.. Lots of people claim that VR is a fad but since getting my Playstation headset this year I've probably spent more time VR gaming than on a TV. Google earth VR, 360 Video player, BBC Home (excellent btw), Jurassic world etc. It is superb!! Such an immersive experience. Even my wife, who doesn't normally play computer games to any great degree, was hooked! I didn't get the chance to fire up Elite and sit in my cockpit though. Hopefully that'll be tonight! Edit: Yes please, feel free to send me plenty of suggestions

The engine did have issues ive never had it eat a save file but ive had weird issues and crashed in most of the games ive played. I suspect the problem was similar games is fine as long as you dont do too many and people still want them but they diddnt seem to read the signs (is what im seeing). They also had a bad release schedule i would never buy a game until all episodes were out as they were terrible at releasing them prompt and by that time the game was usually cheap and i assume their business plan was for people to buy expensive and early but they pretty much made that pointless

(Fallout4 VR is also great) Superhot VR - The time only moving when you do mechanic works perfectly in VR where you feel like Neo dodging bullets in slo-mo! Star Trek: Bridge Crew - Great fun multiplayer especially if you like star trek Arizona Sunshine - Zombies and VR are an epic mix Raw Data - Well designed wave shooter in VR Rec Room - The multiplayer paintball game is great fun as are a few others. The game is also FREE! Battlezone VR - The 80s tank game resurected in VR and turned into a rogue-like multiplayer game. Sort of FTL meets world of tanks! For anyone else who has Playstation VR I'd probably rate Firewall: Zero Hour and Wipeout Omega as my favour VR titles to date. Speaking of which if anyone is contemplating PS4 VR you can get the VR starter pack and move controllers (which you really need ) for just £230 at the moment. I really want to try Elite: Dangerous in VR as apparently there's a way to connect a Playstation VR headset to your PC using something called Trinus VR so let me know what you think when you play it! Thanks! I'll get on some of these at the weekend! I tried elite on wednesday night. My goodness it changes things! The firs thing it conveys is a sense of the true SCALE of things. My Krait MKII is huge! and an Orbis Starport on a scale akin to Babylon 5. Flight and combat is much more intuitive also. I spent forty minutes in and around an Ice Ring extraction site taking out pirates. Enormous fun! It left me a little dizzy when I finally took off the headset, but it was totally worth it!

VR is dead easy if you know your buttons well enough and there's always Voice Attack if you fancy giving commands verbally.
caffrey Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 Think I might treat myself to a console, I primarily play stuff on the PC but there's a lot of exclusives out there (I'm looking at you RDR 2) I can't decide which, Xbox One X because I would like a 4k player and specs are better on paper but there's not a lot of exclusives I want to play PS4 pro has all the best exclusives but doesn't play 4k blurays and the console is noisy and I've never been a huge Sony fan Not fussed on Switch as I fell out with Nintendo a long time ago (Again the current game catalogue is a bit lacking) If RDR 2 actually was announced on PC I probably wouldn't bother
sted Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 tbh if you have a decent gaming pc theres no point buying an xbox (this from an xbox fan) all the ms exclusives are crossplay so just get em on the pc. ps4 pro noise i believe there are 2 versions one with a good a silent fan one with a cheap noisy one i have the quiet one ive never really heard any fan noise from it (though granted i dont have a 4k tv yet) i cant see rdr2 NOT coming to the pc at some point. 4k bluerays are an intersting point but from normal blu rays the xbox plays them less well than a ps4 std (ive had 3 xbox ones (500gb 1tb forza 6 and an x) and 2 ps4s (launch and pro) and last time i played a blu ray on my one the av sync was odd by enough to be annoying never had that issue with the ps4 (never tried 4k as i have no disks and need to upgrade the amp before the tv anyway) tbh since i got it switch is the most used console i own but 500+ of those hours are one game ive barely found a reason to turn my xbox on all year i think the only real action its gotten was playing nier automata though as ive managed to get 4 weeks free gamepass from burgerking im going to play forza horizons 4 for a bit 1

Its more for the console exclusives, I'm more a KB / Mouse person That's another thing never been a fan of the dualshock either, but I'm definitely leaning towards the PS4

Id say my switch is by far the most used console since i got it the only games that come close to even my zelda save file time are nier automata (on both twice on ps4 because i diddnt believe what it said) horizon zero dawn and ghost recon wildlands. But even added together id bet those are less time than in xenoblade 2 alone on my switch. If you want wierd indy games, jrpgs or nintendo stuff its a great console if you want spiderman, horizon zero dawn, god of war or forza horizon 4 its not.
