PUBG has appeared to take a giant leap backwards on xbox (dont @ me!). Just as they seemed to get a lot of stuff ironed out, they changed the way buildings/textures load in to the game (some form of AI is used to predict where people are likely to go in a given situation, and the game will load accordingly, learning as it goes) but the game seems to be getting worse the longer this is going on, not better.

 

I landed in a set of buildings the other day, nothing would load, during which time another person also landed, had their buildings load, found and shot me. (I had been on the ground for about a minute!)

 

Another game i spawned in under some stairs, got stuck, and was left to die in the storm.

 

Also as (i assume anyway) some form of aplogy for the troubles, they gave every xbox user 2 crates to open. both of mine contained dupes! some apology ha

this has happened to me a few times on PC. (not as much now from when i got my new GPU and moved the game to an SSD)

its just general pubg xD

I appear to be in a bit of a lull with games/gaming at the minute. Can't seem to sit and play a story based game for more than half hour without losing focus. anyone else get like that?

 

My attention span only seems to be able to cope with stuff like fifa, rocket league & fortnite right now!

If anything, I'm the reverse! My mate and I are struggling to find anything co-op or multiplayer we want to play, so I've been making my way through the Halo campaigns until something jumps out at us. We always seem to have a lull around this time of year.

I pretty much only play Co-op games and always end up coming back to Path of Exile. It's a lot more fun playing with other people and you can always find a new aim or challenge to keep yourself playing (on top of the new game league they do every 3-4 months).

fallen back into xenoblade chronicles 2 since the challenge mode dlc was added. Boy some of those levels are hard one had me up against ~20 enemies that are level 120 (your level cap is 99) and i was literally dying in 30 seconds worked that one out and its now a good place to grind for level 6 equipment (level 5 was the previous best). Some of the costumes you get as rewards are cool (especially the disguised pyra costume you normally use early in the game for a bit). currently stuck on beating up a level 140 (again im maxed at 99) giant flying squid thing it can remove your chain attack bar (meaning no revive either) and do attacks that pretty much kill you (not one shot as its multiple hits but they may as well be as you cant avoid when your being thrown through the air backwards), think i might need to rethink my team/accessories and do some serious min maxing and this is on the easy section dosent help its so massive that the "loot" that falls off including heal potions is usually so far away as to be useless

 

finished Detroit become human diddnt get a great ending (assuming one is possible) quite a few of the characters diddnt make it (wont way any more spoilers)

I spun it up just before I moved, seems alright, not got very far into it though.

Is it just co-op dungeon/instance grinding all the way? I can see it being something I might play 'every now and again' but PoE already meets my casual pick-it-up-whenever dungeon-crawler needs.

I believe later on it does have an open world. as for the missions they tend to be the same early on but different planets mean different enemies and environment. there is also defend the zone and horde mode which is cool. Plus space dungeon is pretty cool

I've started playing Demons souls on the PS3, it's the only souls game I haven't completed. I'm hoping for it to be remastered and ported to PC though!

 

haven't bought Dark souls remastered, apparently it doesn't work on monitors that go above 60hz refresh and both of mine are 144...

 

edit - and it apparently has tonnes of hackers on PC

 

I've got about 200 hours in it and never had a problem with hackers at all. I also have a 165hz monitor and it still looks like it run smoothly so I think you should be fine, there is an option to select the HZ of the monitor you are running.

to th surprise of none ive gone back to xenoblade 2's challenge mode ive got a few more trials down at least on easy mode. Boy is it making me think about equipment i go into a fight with (and blades) im pretty much reconfigging all my buffs/debufs etc every round so i deal more damage to humans/beasts/mechs or can nullify status effects etc. it certainly teaching me how to min max to the point of of my blades now regularly hits the damage cap on attacks. one hit team kills still suck though as does attacks that drain teh party bar as an empty party bar means no revives/chain attacks. the new blades ahve some intersting if at times annoying abilities as well

 

also finally started persona 4, played a bit of splatoon 2s octo expansion

 

for good measure i finally moved my tv from on top of the tv unit to a stand so its a bit higher up and i have an extra shelf which ive moved my switch to and filled with amiibo lol

Been blitzing my way through .hack//G.U. Last Recode whilst I've had no internet.. Onto Vol. 3 at the moment.

 

A good old nostalgia trip, but my lord I forgot how much of a jerk Haseo was in the first half of the game

In other news, in my quest to play through all of the Halo campaigns again on Heroic difficulty now I have Halo: Master Chief Collection...

 

I almost immediately started playing Halo 2 after finishing Halo: CE and I'm really enjoying it. Everything Halo: CE did badly, Halo 2 gets right (at least so far!).

I've been working my way through slowly, until the weekend just gone...

 

I completed Halo 2 on Friday night and started Halo 3 straight away, finished that on Saturday night and started Halo 4, then finished Halo 4 on Sunday! The campaigns seem to be a bit shorter as you get to the more modern Halos. That being said, I think the Halo 3 campaign is still the best in the Master Chief story arc so far. Halo 2 was great, Halo 4 wasn't too bad, it had good moments and some great environments. I'll be starting Halo 5: Guardians whenever I get the chance, and I can finish off what we have of the Master Chief arc. Then I might go back to Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST if I fancy it.

I've never really played comp too much, but I'm going to give this new season a proper go. Goal is to main mercy, that being said looking at Wrecking Ball it could be a fun tank to use.

Playing through Yakuza Kiwami.

 

So fun, and so dumb.

 

Tiger Drop is super OP, but really hard to use. It's something like a 3 frame window to use it. Too late and you get hit, too early and you do a weak attack.

 

Also, "stance" also being lock-on with no way to change targets is silly.

back into playing nier automata on the xbox this time. for an xbox onex enhanced game and playing at 1080p it still has slowdown issues and wierd item pop (so a fallen over concessions cart i can see through/dosent exist till im very close for instance) really enjoying it again on route b doing as many sidequests as i can and have a fairly different build, so 2b for most of the game instead of having clouds buster sword as the secondary weapon ive been attacking with a giant axe and im manually configuring plug in mode and doing what are probably odd configs with them

 

still a great game just wish achievements diddnt seem to be glitched i diddnt get one until i closed and reopened the game then a few popped at once wonder if ive missed any and i probably ought to start exiting the game properly rather than just dropping the xbox to standby did get the upskirting achievement though lol

Automata is the only game I'm ok with having glitched achievements. You can just buy them post-game. [emoji14]
