Having only ever played Halo:CE on PC way back (Halo 2 gave me motion sickness), me and my friend are doing the lot on MCC Co-op. We've done Reach, CE and now just started Halo 2. The FOV on H2 gives me motion sickness a like it did on vista but if i crank the FOV up to max it's not too bad for me.

It leaked yesterday and the whole thing crashed under the load!

Try eating ginger before playing, like Jamaican ginger cake. Weirdly worked for me when I played Vampire: The Masquerade and Half Life 2. Any game using the source engine makes me motion sick :(

Isn't it strange! I've never had motion sickness playing games and i'm fine with the source engine. Halo Reach and Halo:CE have been fine for me. In fact I wasted many hours on Halo:CE on PC when it was released. But something about Halo 2's FOV just knocks me sick, it was that bad when it was originally released on PC that i never finished the first few missions. I'll try your trick out!

Just finished Mass Effect: Andromeda. Whilst I didn't think it was as bad as some make out, it did feel more like a PS3 than PS4 title. Still, it worked for me and kept me playing (a lot).

 

My complaints (beyond the last gen graphics) would be that some of the missions were stretched out too long (get a movie, get snacks, get better snacks, get...) or a bit pointless (find guy in cell, chat to his gf, report back to him - at least that one was in the same location), default Scott Ryder model was a bit odd looking, humanoid female models seemed to be designed to deflect criticisms that they were all super-attractive facially but still had comic-book heroine figures and the "romance" options were... strange. Certain characters seem to throw themselves at you, but others are disinterested or even off limits depending on your character's sex.

Two main complaints about Andromeda:

 

1, For a galaxy that you were meant to be exploring, it seemed to be very much explored already. I didn't feel a sense of wonder or discovery, especially not next to Skyrim/Fallout or Breath of the Wild.

 

2, No interesting alien species. The ones you discover aren't terrible interesting, and the ones that were interesting from the original trilogy were all left on the Ark that wasn't discovered (presumable DLC that wasn't completed).

 

I enjoyed Andromeda overall, but I think it continues the general feeling of decline at Bioware, and the Mass Effect 2 was the last great game they've released. As a massive Bioware fan, I think it's a shame, but I'm far more interested in what Obsidian and Larian Studios are producing.

I really enjoyed Mass Effect: Andromeda when I originally played it, though admittedly it was a little while after launch. I agree with your points though, a lot of fetch quests. The game was quite buggy, which drew a lot of criticism, though the bugs were patched out quite quickly. By then though, the damage had already been done, it quickly picked up a reputation and it became the in thing to bash it by trolls online. It's a game I plan on revisiting at some point.

Finished Everybody's Gone to the Rapture on PS4. Absolutely beautiful to look at, the score is ravishing, and the story is quite touching. First "walking sim" type game I've played; I found the format OK, but good lord did you move slowly, even when"running"! Well worth the £4 I spent, but not sure I'd have been impressed at full price.

Just started playing Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (using headphones as recommended). I'm super intrigued so far. I've heard such good things about it.

I'm deep into Warhammer Total War 2 (about 70 hours and counting) and I have to say it is superb!

 

The battles are glorious and the campaign gets pretty hard in the later stages.

 

After years of playing historical TW games, keeping your general safe at the back and only using him to finish off units, it is so refreshing to launch your super-powered lord into a regiment of 100 foes only to see him rip them apart whilst looking for someone worthy of a fair fight.

I wish I had the time to delve in Total Warhammer, but it doesn't suit the laptop I use for gaming or the 2 hour time slots I get to game in.

 

Currently playing through Pillars of Eternity 2, well worth a look if you're a CRPG fan, though you'd probably need to play PoE1 first.

played and finished (including the add on) xenoblade de on my switch in ~2.5 weeks.

started command & conquer remastered on my new pc (got stuck stopped)

played a lot of astroneer on my new pc

played forza horizon 4 on my pc started playing it as i had it with gamepass and seemed a good benchmark game (was running at a stable 4k60fps with everything on ultra lol)

 

new pcs power supply went bang tripping the house electrics waiting for it to be rma'd and hoping it diddnt take anything with it. Wll that pc lasted about 8 weeks lol

 

i want to play more astroneer

Somehow I've committed 80 hours to WH:TW2 in the last month!

 

Anyhow, I ended up losing my first campaign. The damned Dark Elves started their final ritual and before I could stop them and launch my own counterritual I was attacked by Skaven and Tomb Kings.

About six full armies of each!

 

I fought them off but was in both financial and military ruin by the end, nothing left to throw against the Dark Elves.

 

It was cracking fun, though! :)

yey my pc works again cue spending 5 hours yesterday on a new astroneer file lol

speaking of anyone want to play astroneer multiplayer (fwiw im on the windows store version)

well after completing xenoblade de earlier in the year asnd really enjoying putting 120 hours into xenoblade 2 in the last month or so ive got the wiiu out of retirement unplugged the ps4 and am going to play xenoblade x and doing a mission or so a day of odst now its on pc

I wish PSN would stop reducing stuff to such low prices that I buy them despite having little time for play at the moment.

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter £1.59

 

Might try Erica at the weekend. Currently on Witcher 3, but I'm finding it a bit too big and getting sick of playing Gwent. Anyone know if you have to beat the guys at the party you crash with Triss?
