I've done something similar! BT contract was coming up (500mb) and Hyperoptic offered me 1gb for £20 less a month. Phoned BT who said their best offer is same speed for £4 cheaper then what I was paying.....never had such an easy decision.

I do similar to this, I have tabs for hardware, software and infrastructure. I try and put down the dates license terms are ending and highlight bits as they are paid. Like people have said, everyone will have their own way but find a way you can understand yourself.

Hi All, We run an outreach programme with the local schools and I have been asked if I would consider running an IT related club. I have tentatively said I could run a game design club for top end of primary school/lower end secondary age, I was wondering if anyone has done anything similar and what software they used? Thanks

I have had a few run ins with Evri, as has my neighbour. The last few packages have just been thrown out by the front door or delivered to a house on a different street. My neighbour had a package delivered but the delivery person picked up another package that was outside of her door and took it with him! I am still waiting for a delivery from them for something they confirmed they had received at the end of March...

Hi All, We are having an issue with Minecraft, more specifically students hosting their own worlds and allowing their friends to join. The app works fine in terms of letting them log in and playing the game but if a friend joins it freezes while connecting or allows them to join momentarily and then kicks them out. Generally these are all on iPads but even if we start a world on the classroom desktop we get the same problem. Wifi seems fine and we have tried a couple of different classrooms. I have also been through the Minecraft support pages and made sure sites are whitelisted on our firewall. Has anyone had anything similar? Thanks

We've been concentrating on this for nearly a year now and luckily the Bursar is quite proactive. Pushed 2FA on our Google accounts, double/triple checked firewall settings etc. Biggest thing that someone has already mentioned is training and just making people aware. As with most things in schools, it needs SLT/SMT to lead by example and that isn't always the case.

Freshdesk for us here for IT and Facilities, looking to move repro onto it too. The app is incredibly handy for managing tickets.

Not sure if anyone is interested but I was looking for a Google nest camera and a new Hub, nearly got direct from the Google Store but Currys are doing them both £10 cheaper!

This is a very hands-on position, where teamwork and communication is crucial and all the team members work alongside each other on projects to ensure the job is done to a high standard and efficiently. We are predominantly an Apple school with the majority of our hardware Apple based. We also utilise Google Workspace which is used widely across both sites in the classroom and for admin tasks. The Senior ICT Technician will help run the schools IT helpdesk by creating, managing and escalating incoming tickets. The post holder will help with first and second line support ensuring issues are dealt with swiftly and effectively. The Senior ICT Technician will also provide input to the schools overall digital strategy and assist with any ongoing plans with the network infrastructure. We have a set of 24 which only really get used by one department. The teacher that uses them is creates some great lessons and even takes the 360 degree camera away with her to create content. Our junior school has used them on the odd occasion but not as much as we originally thought. We got out kit from https://www.classvr.com/, who out of the group of people that came in were by far the best and have offered the best support. Not only do they provide the kit and software the manage the headsets, once you sign up you join a big community who share lots of resources you can use at your school.
