Lumia: my wife has the 930, which is how I know it's so bloody lovely in the hand, and I do think Windows Phone is a good OS that deserves to be doing better than it is (it's the best choice for the 80% of people who aren't comfortable with computers), but I'm a geek, and I like to tinker, and Android lets me do that... :/ My Nexus 4 was only £16 a month when I got it as well, so £28 a month sounds a lot compared to that. Plus, y'know, it just is a lot of money, taken out of the context of phones and into the context of what I could spend that money on instead though I suppose I'm already £12 of the way there on the 30-day SIM-only contract I'm on right now. Have you looked at GiffGaff? You can buy phone only on monthly fees there if you're happy with your current contract. The APR isn't too bad either.

Yeah, but it's a notification tray designed by HTC, not one designed by Google, I just wondered if there was a way of changing it (layout, options, altogether switching it for the default Lollipop tray) in case I don't like it. TBF, , but I can't spot a Flashlight button in there, which is Really Bloody Handy in default Lollipop.

The APR isn't too bad either. I hadn't, and for a brief moment my hopes exploded as I thought they might have the Moto X... but no The APR is surprisingly decent as well - only about £30/£40 more over the 2 years is not too shabby. I could get a Nexus 6 for only £32 a month... hmmm...

All the ones on the Play Store are loaded down with ads and malware and 'orrible permissions that's why I love the built in one in the notifications tray.

ConnorByrne Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 And yes there is a very good flash light built. My M7 has three different levels of light. It's more useful that you think. I turned the power off in my home the other night as the light fitting had Broke, the light is brilliant!

Do a YOLO and get the Nexus 6 if you're happy with your Nexus 4 or even the Nexus 5 is a good choice You'll most likely be disappointed with the slower update roll-out and when trying out a staff members HTC M8 here today I think it's awfully slow compared to that of my Nexus 6!

Got to leave the other hand free, y'know... cups of tea and all that. I need to do the same with a HTC anyway tbh, don't know anyone with the M8 though :/ Nexus 5 isn't enough of an upgrade to be worth it, and Google have stopped selling it now anyway. I dunno. Dead pixels in the screen, Mobile Network drop outs intermittently, support was awful, updates are/have been slower than HTC, the company regularly breaks promises, also a lot of apps even though mine wasn't rooted see the OnePlus One as a rooted phone such as Lloyds bank and then they won't work at all on the device. Though my little brother also has one and hasn't had an issue with it what so ever as far as I know. So I may have just got a bad one. 1

This could sway me, as the price difference is just too big to ignore... It was @abillybob's experience that kind of put me off. Anyone can get unlucky with a bad phone, but poor support is unacceptable IMO. What is the build quality like? That's very important to me. I'm tempted to get the OnePlus one to see how I get on with Android first. Then I just think, to h*ll with it, just pay the money and get the HTC! Decisions...

The M8 maybe a little more. Is the OPO not miles better spec than the HTC One M7? I'm still thinking pay the cost and get the M9.
