abillybob Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I really don't care if my phone has the latest version of android or not... why does it matter if you get it now or in a months time when bugs have been ironed out? It wouldn't be so bad if it was in a months time but it's not. Samsung owners have been waiting the past 5 months to get lollipop OTA update and we're already on 5.1. Its super slow......... Again can't comment on HTC!!! Plus it's android and depending on what you do with it, rooting, unofficial apps etc means you are more likely to get a virus as you haven't got the latest security updates, plus I always love the support for Nexus devices, Google post the manual upgrade links and instructions on how to do so.
Joanne Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 ahh OK. I've had Lollipop for a couple of months now, but I never root my phones. I used to flash them all the time when they were Windows Mobile 6, but I can't be bothered to do that now. It just works, so I don't try to fix it!

Send it back it'll only get worse. It could be two things: 1. The battery is bloating and if that's the case DONT USE IT 2. The glue has come away due to heat Take the back cover off and check it if the battery looks fine just replace the glue with some super glue and you'll be fine!!!

The new HTC one M9 Samsung Galaxy S6 / edge Or maybe a pure Google Nexus 6 (Used Galaxy s3 and Htc one m7 for the past few years) Just wanted people's opinions... I'm in exactly the same boat! I have used both Samsung and HTC, in all fairness I prefer the HTC, the build quality is just beautiful, nd then the OS Well samsung is all good with is fancy fan dangled features which after about a week slows down dramatically, HTC kept it simple yet sophisticated! So I think I am decided on HTC, I did chuck nexus in the mix but hearing about the build quality that's out the Windows's now! 1

Of all the reviews and research I'm doing at the moment the general consensus is that the S6 is such an improvement on the S5 that it will be the best phone of 2015. It seems to edge the HTC on processor, camera, screen etc. Though I do like the SD card slot, and to be honest I think the Quad HD will likely drain the battery quicker than a 1080p screen. I know it largely boils down to personal preference. 1

I'm talking about phones!) means you can use one hand (Oh I give up) more comfortably, but typing one-handed has significant efficiency drawbacks, so even with smaller phones I find myself holding it with both hands and typing with both my thumbs, though with the phone being smaller it gets quite uncomfortable. It's one of those things you don't really think about until you downsize. Sony XPERIA SP: 130.6 x 67.1 x 9.98 mm (4.6 inch screen) OnePlus One: 152.9 x 75.9 x 8.9 mm (5.5 inch screen) My OPO was taller and wider, but thinner so that helped with the weight a little bit. I'm guessing that's not from personal experience? Haha (Still giggling) And yes the HTC is still 5" same as last year but I've currently got the m7 so it's a slight size improvement, I am swaying towards HTC ( a few years ago I'd of never said that)

I've never owned a *big* phone, but I'm just put off at the prospect of it not fitting comfortably in my pocket. I would also prefer to be able to hold it in one hand. The other thing is I'm not one to watch media on the phone, so the large screen would probably be wasted on me. All personal preference I'm sure.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that Samsung has reduced the bloat by 40% (which probably still means there is a lot of it!).

Whether it is for media or not I think the large screen is so much better these days, the clarity of the screens and with today's PPI on the latest phones, they are great for everything.

But if I had to use both hands to type I'd make a right mess of the bathroom floor! 1440p phones are silly, I was looking at reviews of the LG G3 and its battery life takes a massive hit from the unnecessary resolution. I do just want a Moto X why won't anyone do one on contract...

I don't personally consider 5.5 inch to be 'BIG' just 'larger than normal' (SO MANY INNUENDOS RIGHT NOW) but it was more comfortable to use, I could watch videos (e.g. youtube, I'm not one for watching for watching full length movies on my phone, personally) and read web content much easier than on a smaller screen.

I have stubby fingers ) but I still had no trouble with it. I'd want to go with something along the 5-5.5 mark again.

Yea I've never had an pocket trouble, was just curious I really like the sound of the nexus, but the backing quality has put me off. Think it's HTC for me!
