mikeprice Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Wonderful - 2 Problems a) Dear Amazon - you drone is in the dog because Stuart saw the drone landing and chewed it up b) In 'certain areas' of the country a nice little drone flying over obviously contains something new and sell-able - and some of the 'usual suspects' will find that a medium sized projectile (i.e. ball bearing fired from catapult or even a rock ) could easily bring it down in an area where it could be relieved of its cargo may happen but I suspect that the areas covered will be limited - and obviously very weather dependent - don't think they would have delivered much yesterday around here

Will they have to go out to the local park and stand in the cold waiting for arrival? Will the packaging be weather proof for when it is lashing down?

localzuk Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I'd imagine in cities, local deliveries are pretty cheap to run. Whereas in the leafy countryside the costs increase considerably. So, drones would make sense delivering down here!

Top Gear returns to BBC on 8 May Top Gear will return to the BBC on Sunday 8 May, its new presenter Chris Evans has said. During an interview with James Martin on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen, he said the first episode would be screened the Sunday after filming finishes on 5 May. Evans said producers had “already started making the films”. “We’re going to America to make our first inter-continental in January,” he added. Evans, 49, did not say anything about who his co-presenters would be. There will be 16 episodes when the new incarnation of Top Gear is broadcast on BBC2 next year.

German racing driver Sabine Schmitz and motoring journalist Chris Harris are said to have been chosen to join the revamped BBC motoring show. David Coulthard, the former Formula One star, has also been appointed to the new-look presenter panel, according to The Sun. It comes after Top Gear - which is rebranding after former hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond left earlier this year - was hit by two backroom departures. It was revealed on Tuesday that the show's executive producer, Lisa Clark, was leaving the show after five months. And Tom Ford, a script editor, will also reportedly not be returning at the end of his contract.

If they do, the new TG should be great for petrolheads (like me), but I worry it won't appeal to the masses the same way the old TG did and ultimately flop because of this. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do.

Old Top Gear was entertaining because it wasn't a car show that happened to be entertaining (if you want car specs and in-depth stuff, I hear Fifth Gear is good for that?) Top Gear was entertaining because it was an entertainment show that happened to involve a lot of cars. Personally, I liked it that way. Especially the daft challenge episodes. You watch it and you know the vast majority of it has been engineered for entertainment, but it doesn't matter, because it is still legitimately entertaining. Though I suppose to an actual petrol head/car enthusiast, watching Top Gear must be to you like my mum calling herself a gamer because of Candy Crush and Farmville is to me..

You watch it and you know the vast majority of it has been engineered for entertainment, but it doesn't matter, because it is still legitimately entertaining. Though I suppose to an actual petrol head/car enthusiast, watching Top Gear must be to you like my mum calling herself a gamer because of Candy Crush and Farmville is to me.. Exactly. TG became an entertainment show first, car program second. I enjoyed watching it too, just as much as the next person, but knew to take everything car related with a pinch of salt. YT seems to be the best place for your car geek fix these days. Some great shows/channels being made for YT audiences. It's going to be a tricky thing to balance, enough entertainment for the masses, and enough car stuff for geeks. If the rumours are true about the new presenters, they are all professional racing drivers (excluding Evans) and motoring journalists, so can only see the show going in the 'real car show' direction. Likewise, I sort of enjoyed the show before when it was more about every day cars and the extra details but.. I prefer this format. It's also why it became a world known TV show. Still.. once they announced Matt doing it.. well perhaps if he does all the talking and not Chris Evans I could enjoy it To be fair though.. as I said before I will try it but I cant stand Chris and no matter what shows he is on I end up switching over after 10 minutes.
