2:2:1 here. We switched from a 2:1:2 a couple of years ago. Irritatingly we revert back to the 2:1:2 during the exam period, it's very confusing. We also finish earlier on a Thursday.

In all secondary schools I have been at (including the one I went to as a teenager) it was 2:2:2 Times were something around -

 

8:50-9:00 = Registration

9:00-9:55 = Period 1

10:00-10:45 = Period 2

10:45-11:00 = Break

11:00-11:55 = Period 3

12:00-12:50 = Period 4

12:50-13:40 = Lunch

13:40-14:40 = Period 5

14:45-15:30 = Period 6

 

I never realised that so many secondary school finish up earlier than 15:30 !

We're 2:2:1 changed from 2:1:2 a few years ago as students attention span after lunch is very poor. Much better as 2:2:1

We are 2:1:2 here too. It's interesting to see how many people have changed to 2:2:1 though - certainly food for thought. Not sure about the concentration levels here in an afternoon as I'm not in the lessons very often to be able to tell.

Ours is 2:2:1 but changes to a 2:1:2 if needed.

When 1.5hours+ is needed in the afternoon for exams or something else then they swap P4 and lunch over so Lunch is 12.20-12.55, P4 12.55-13.55

 

Works ok, have had a PM Reg before that was 15mins afterlunch but that was scrapped and 10mins put onto am reg and 5 onto p5 to cover the pm reg mark but they then moved that to p4 and left the 5 mins there.

 

we used to have a 2:2:2 of 50mins each years ago. Also our double lessons now span a break or a lunch as apparently the students cant cope with being sat still for 2 hours in one go....

Seems to be working well. Only having one session after lunch has been very well received, particularly on a Friday!
