I'm currently riding a 2014 Honda NC 750 XA which has about 30,000 on the clock. As I don't drive a car I use it all year round and have been all over the country on it. She's scuffed and has paint coming off the radiator and engine casing but she's a solid bit of kit.

Long term though she is going to be replaced with a Yamaha FJR1300 as I want a shaft drive with more grunt for 2 up long distance riding as my fiancee wants to ride pilliuon during the summer months so we don't have to use the car.

No I am in a couple of weeks.... I'm not into it. I've tried it, given it a chance, but it's not for me.

I think that's a great way to look at it. To my mind, you have to REALLY enjoy riding and your time on the bike to offset the negatives and the risks.

I only wish that I'd come to that conclusion before dropping £600 on a DAS course, getting licenced up, getting big bike...

I think the only thing I like about it is the image! Hahahah.... lady bikers are cool AF.

Alas, it shall not be for me!

I understand the comments about biking not being for them. I have days where i feel like i no longer want to ride and i think 'Why am i doing this?' But then i'll go for a ride with no destination in mind, i'll feel at one with my bike, the sound and the exhaust tone fill me with a great feeling and i completely change my mind.

I'm officially back riding again following 8 years of false starts, insurance issues, small children and a constant stream of broken bikes...

That's a beauty!

I've now got nearly a bike for each day of the week now... This 550, my Revere, which is not a beauty, it's an old dog with mismatched panels, but it goes, passed an MOT and is taxed and insured, a Red 400/4 that I've fixed recently, a Yellow 400/4 that belongs to my Mum but needs the exercise and my Dad's Triumph TR6R that is now declared MOT and Tax Exempt, so I can ride that too. Now just the Bros and the B25 to finish fixing up and it'll properly be a different one each day!

I still need to sort out my crashed 'storm, the missus won't let me get another bike to use until I sort it :(

I've got my mates VFR in my garage that's in exactly the same predicament. It goes knocked over in a car park and has been sat in my garage since 2012! My mate bought another bike on finance but that deal is up, it was an expensive bike on expensive finance and his missus is playing hardball about it - No new bike till you sell the old one! I've had a run of good luck with fixing stuff and it's running again now, but it needs a new battery, a fairing panel and an MOT!

I'll give him a tenner and a packet of nik naks for it ;)

My engine seized and I highsided on the M25, so an engine strip is required, not fun when you don't have a garage!

There are actually 4 of them in the family, I've got one, Mum's got one, there's one for spares and one is a half finished cafe racer project with a Yoshimura kit.
