I've had this with a science teacher. Got it installed, but it can't reach the server on login. Tried mentioning the shortcut's server configuration and the like to their support but no luck.

Similar to pretty much everything above, but streamlined in a couple of ways for us: We gave the exams officer a small laptop trolley with restricted laptops that are only able to use ExamWritePad - with one of them configured for having spellcheck as sometimes an exam allows for it. Laptops are not networked, and have identical easy passwords (hint: the username is "exam") across them to the locked down user, work is printed to a WiFi Direct printer (Epson ET-4850 that lives on top of the trolley) and then deleted after use. Printing was the biggest problem for us, as the exams officer needs to print and send off the exams pretty shortly after finishing sometimes, so we gave them a printer to use and the exams officer was shown how to clean the printer heads before exam season to make sure it's working when needed. The laptops are configured to only see the printer's SSID, as we had a number of pupils wreck their printing by trying to connect to the school wifi. With proper instruction and the exam officer/invigilators running it properly, we don't get these back much now and they pretty much run themselves. Maybe once a year or term I'll gather them all back and update them/upgrade ExamWritePad.

I would like to say it's when I got Black & White on the PC, but in reality it's being about 5 years old and terrified of this level of the Rugrats PS1 game! After that it's playing Pokemon Yellow on the GBC.

Fun fact (for me at least!), it speaks Esperanto pretty decently. Some noticeable mistakes, but legible. I had it describe the jewish holidays too and it kind of flipflopped between translating the names or not.

*Mild Part 2 spoiler* There was a shot out the window that's pretty intentionally framed so it harkens to the end of Part 2 with the tractor in view, but it's not meant to be the same farm as this is one in Boston.

I wouldn't say it hasn't been in his work for the past few years... The "I identify as white" strip was a while ago.

Graphics cards are getting stupid-huge for my mid-tower... Though, thankfully tablets seem to be getting bigger again after the phablet phase! Love my iPad Air's size.

Frustratingly, every one of these except for Rumble was allowed by default in lightspeed... I found students searching him around six months ago and blocked a number of search terms and sites. There's a number of "hustler academy" sites to block too. Shame the search filter doesn't do much as they can just put a space or misspell anything to get around it.

I broke my touch ID three days after getting my 6S... It's the one part of the front of the phone a screen protector can't cover and on a fluke it fell out of my pocket and hit the corner of a chair right on that spot!

I've had decent luck with setting up a kiosk profile for Lenovo Tab M10 android tablets in Microsoft Endpoint/Intune. If you have that already I'd probably go that route.

Got a G29 and accs for Christmas, so finally my Euro Truck setup feels right! I've also been enjoying Forza Horizon, though since my name is uncommon I just can't get used to the game actually saying it out loud correctly!

Are these for external viewing, or internal only? External we use Teams, internally we use MistServer, set a link to to the web view on the desktop and point people there. Equipment-wise this is what we have, based on what we bought during COVID to livestream assemblies and religious services and what we already had.

I've got one too. I use it as my main satnav if I don't need to be there fast, otherwise I stick maps on my earbud. I tend to misread it every now and then, but the app is quite nice for recording rides out.

Test centres are chaos at the moment, mostly blamed on COVID catchups. The earliest I could book my car test without trying to catch a last minute cancellation is January. 😥

I do think the A2/A difference is daft, considering to get the higher tier licence I would be doing the exact same tests but on a slightly bigger bike. In fact, some of my lessons were on a restricted 650, so no difference at all. There was talk of it being a simplified upgrade a few years ago, but I think Brexit killed that off for a while. Why would I go through the stress, waiting for an actual test date at the moment, and monetary hit to upgrade?

Been riding nearly 10 years, when it comes to the Mod 1 it might just be me being 5'6" but I wouldn't have been too comfortable doing the manual handling on a Tiger 800. Usually the riding school's bikes are deliberately pretty low and easy to move. I did mine on an ER5, got a Suzuki GS500 for a few years and now have a Honda Rebel. I'm still on A2 licence, but that's because I did my Mods before I turned 24 and I'm fine with a 500cc because the process of redoing them when I'd only get a 650 seems stupid.

When we got it there was an adapter available from somewhere that allowed for standard rolls.

In terms of supported content and capability, it's Premiere Pro all the way for me, especially with AE included in the full subscription. But it depends what you need it for, if you only need to create simple trims and edits with basic titles, something like OpenCut will do the job. If you're looking to edit quite a lot, you will quickly start to rely on Premiere (speaking for myself at least). I've ended up doing near feature-length content on there. Learning curve on Premiere isn't too steep, I took a day or two when we were WFH to get a feel for the timeline and workspaces and just improved on it since then.

We have both of these. The gaffgun is great for setups with long cable runs, though it does take a bit of getting used to and doesn't really protect the cables from damage, just secures them from being a tripping hazard and hides them away nicely. We use those cable covers for an assembly setup which is put up and taken down after the assembly where the kids have to walk over the run. It's great for quick teardown where there's a pedestrian walkway and works much better than the original style of rubber cable trap you have to tuck the cables into, though despite it being bright yellow the kids WILL still manage to boot it because they're not looking where they're shuffling their feet.

Yeah, this is because of the discovery protocols so the fixes above should work if you go to the IP addresses for the printers . We had this here and that fixed it, when people accidentally print direct it doesn't get logged on papercut either.

Disable the protocols (most of them except RAW but definitely disable Bonjour and WSD) on the printer's admin webpages. This won't be a print server share issue I'm guessing, this will be Windows on the client PCs picking up the protocols.
